Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread

As of now, it looks like Kelly and Cortez Masto are poised to win their races (as is Katie Hobbs). That will be helpful to Warnock in his runoff, as it means control of the senate is moot and Walker will have to rely on his own political talent to get out the vote.

Source for Nevada scoop?

Cortez Masto is still behind, but closing the gap with a gob of Dem-friendly ballots to be counted.

Ralston is the man with his finger on the pulse of Nevada politics.

Still need that extra seat so that you can play Manchin and Sienema off of one another.

The media is all over DeSantis for his strong showing in a red state. Yet Whitmer is blowing out her opponent by double digits in a swing state, and has flipped the state’s Congress blue for the first time in 40 years.

In fact, Dems won Governor and Secretary of State in 4 of the 5 battleground states that decided 2016 & 2020. The 5th is Arizona, where the count continues but Dems look poised to take both.

Dems flipped a House seat in New Mexico. The GOP Is ahead in the race to 218, but something like 9 of the seats still being counted are in California. The House isn’t lost…yet.

If Jon Ralston makes a statement about Nevada or Las Vegas politics, you can take it to the bank. The guy is so connected it’s ridiculous.

MSNBC’s projection of the GOP’s House majority is shrinking. Currently, they’re projecting 221 seats for the GOP with a margin of error of +/- 7.

The vast bulk of the remaining races are on the west coast. Sadly, Boebert just moved ahead in her race.

It looks like anywhere from 221-214 R to 218-217 D. My guess is a 219-216 Republican majority.

It will be an absolute circus.

So, not much different than the last decade, eh?

The next two years will be nothing but Biden impeachment.

This will be a “level up” from that. It’s close enough to be rattled by the normal attrition and special elections between general elections. It’s close enough to go through multiple Speakerships in one term. It’s close enough that almost anything can happen.

Thereby guaranteeing a “Blue Wave” in '24.

Maybe hiring a few history majors to help run your social media might be wise KFC…

Kristallnacht, well that sounds happy doesn’t it?

Jesus.

The Boebert election is literally coming down to the wire:

House projection has tightened to 220-215. If the Dems can take 3 more districts - Boebert’s being one - they retain control of the House and, perhaps more importantly, all the committee chairs.

In Nevada, after a Clark County dump of votes Democratic candidate Cortez Mastro is now only about 800 votes down. With the number of votes left to be counted and where those votes are from, she will almost certainly win.

This, along with the win in Arizona, will secure Democratic control of the Senate in '23.

Also in Nevada, in the Secretary of State race the normal human won over the election denying pigfucker, so we have that going for us, too. As far as I was concerned, this SoS election was considerably more important than Governor, which was won by the pigfucker, who largely ran on ‘out of control crime,’ which is curious since he is the Sheriff of Clark County.
