Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread

Yes, you can. It just ends up being a different employee. You just have to make your expectations known and follow through on it.

Totally 100% agree.

Then you may want to stop blaming the “characteristics” of the millennial.

I’ve a friend who has worked for the CDC in Atlanta since the mid 80s. He is retiring next month and we spoke the other day about a number of things. One of the things he said was that this COVID-19 is the scariest thing he has ever seen in terms of prevention and spread. His recommendation was do all you can to boost your immune system and, of course, wash your hands well, often, and keep them away from your face.

Not until they prove me wrong.

Every generation seems to have an inherent need to criticize subsequent generations.

My wife and I are older millennials, and we have had coworkers of all ages since we entered the workforce. On average, I don’t feel like the work ethic of people around my age is any different than the Boomers or GenX-ers I’ve worked with. If anything, at times I’ve felt like I have worked circles around some older coworkers who felt that they had paid their dues and didn’t have to work as much.

I think the worst thing you could say about millennials is that we want our jobs to be meaningful to ourselves and others, and to have some semblance of a healthy work/life balance. That doesn’t make us lazy.

I have to disagree with you, my good man. The modern Democrat Party is no longer the party of JFK. And it’s not very inclusive either. You have to be a 100% fervent believer, or they’ll shun you to the point that you leave the party. That’s what happened to me. I was appointed by a Republican governor when I was a Democrat. I didn’t switch parties for over four years.

Frivolous vel non, our tax dollars shouldn’t be used for health care save those on Medicare or Medicaid. Don’t tread on me!!!

What should our tax dollars be spent on? Corporate bailouts?

And when they do tread on you, you can pay for it out of your own pocket. That all checks out.

The coronavirus really brings the need for quality public health to stark reality. The country’s ability to withstand pandemic is based upon the healthcare of the least insured and cared for person. It doesn’t matter how good your access to healthcare is if thousands of people in your community are getting sick with a highly contagious virus and without that access to healthcare. Public health is about raising the floor to protect everyone. Like it or not, we’re all in this together so we should act like it.

And that’s not even getting into the fact that tens of millions of people – especially in food service – have no paid time off and need to work through being sick in order to provide for themselves and their family. Nothing spreads a virus like a sick cook or waiter who can’t afford to miss a shift.

Who do you think pays for those who either can’t or won’t pay for their healthcare now? I’ll never understand people who claim to want everyone to pay their own way then object vehemently to requiring them to do so.

And stop touching your wiener some much.

I’ll never understand the bunch who simply don’t want to work or pay for anything.

It’s pretty simple. People like you object to making them.

2020 head-to-heads from Fox News poll:
Biden 49%, Trump 41%
Sanders 49%, Trump 42%
Bloomberg 48%, Trump 40%
Warren 46%, Trump 43%
Buttigieg 45%, Trump 42%
Klobuchar 44%, Trump 43%

Are you getting it yet?

Yes I get that we pay taxes but there comes a point to where the government takes too much money. With Bernie and all of the things he wants free, I feel like I’d be giving 3/4 of my paycheck to the government.

If you’re paying for it with your taxes, it’s not free now is it?

The modern Democratic Party has an independent and a Republican in the last 7 of its candidates for its presidential nomination.

The Republican Party has cancelled primaries that Trump might not win, and kicked out Justin Amash and vilified Mitt Romney for being guided by their oaths of office.

You can project all you want; doesn’t make it true.
