Wishful thinking, I’m afraid. For half the state, it enhances his reputation. For the other half, it will warm up next week and all will be forgotten.
I get it. It’s just striking a chord with me. I saw that story last night on the news and got angry. Saying to my wife “so, what is this supposed to mean. Tell me all the bad decisions these non-Texans did and I’ll consider this newsworthy.”
While Beto is calling seniors to check on their situations and help them. But, I don’t think he could have helped in this situation as a senator. Still looks bad for Cruz to be bailing on the state.
We are still shit out of luck when we thaw as the grocery stores are bare and it will take who knows how long before they stock shelves.
Just a disaster.
The out of state ERCOT directors did not insist strenuously enough that gas pipes from the storage facilities to the generators be insulated. They didn’t relentlessly demand with forceful vigor that piles of coal should not be kept out exposed to the elements and wind generators should be winterized. Those no good non-Texan bastards
I have no idea, but who appoints Ercot directors? Is it energy providers? The State? are there consumers or only experts?
I could not figure out who appoints them either. The best I could come up with PUC appoints them, but PUC is appointed by Abbott.
Don’t buy in to this spin. He could help coordinate the federal emergency response. He could take a freezing old lady a cup of hot soup. He could do something.
And apparently, PUC would have to approve all the rules for weatherizing all the equipment or having more backup capability. Based on my knowledge of Texas commissions, those PUC folks are just doing what the Guv and Leg tell them.
Why would he need to steal a freezing old lady’s cup of soup? Oh, I see, you said take, not take from.
I meant policy wise. But, I totally agree with your point.
Gotcha, sorry. Been slapping down the stupid on Twitter who are saying that Ted couldn’t help in this crisis right now, and was still channeling that energy.
To me as an non-Texan and a moderate conservative this strikes me as Cruz’s “Let them eat Cake” moment. It will haunt him.
If it were Trump doing this, sure. Cruz doesn’t inspire the same fanatical loyalty.
I don’t mind Senator Cruz heading to Cancun, so long as he promises not to come back.
Where is the Cartel when you need them?
