Ranger/Marlin…I remembered the longtime Ranger who threw the first pitch in Marlins history.
I stared at that square for probably a cumulative hour today, and just a minute ago it occurred to me that current Marlins reliever Tanner Scott started in Baltimore. 9/9 for the first time in a while.
Yes, Yelding got 30.
My first 9/9 in a while – with 74. My old friend Wayne Terwilliger fits almost every grid and earned me 0.007% on this one. Nate Colbert, Ken Caminiti and Claudell Washington also scored well.
Not an overly fantastic score at 211, but I was immaculate today!
How have I never heard of this guy before?
What a great name.
Won 21 for the Twins in 65, played from 58 to 71.
You’ve been living in uncultured cesspool? You know…Dallas.
9/9. Today was kinda easy, though I’m glad I wasn’t entirely sure Andre Dawson hit 40 HR with the Expos. I was surprised at how few answers there was to that one.
I correctly guessed Vlad Sr. I wasn’t sure about Harper but he would have been my next guess. I never would have come up with Soriano.
I had just looked up Soriano the other day to see when his 40/40 season was. Lucky me. Of course I botched LAD/40HR and ended up with 8/9 anyway.
I used Vladdy for the homers (after waffling on Dawson). I’m still scratching my head on the other Washington/Montreal boxes. I’m just not good at remembering team affiliations.
ETA: After putting it down for a while, when I came back the mind-numbingly obvious Washington-San Diego player occurred to me. That was embarrassing.
For LA I went with Shawn Green. There was a time when he looked like a sure fire HOFer in the making, but then fell off the cliff at age 30.
Took me for ever to think of Sean Doolittle for the A/W square but then was shocked he was the most popular answer.
8/9 today - Dodger 40 HR got me.
I went Eddie Matthews on ATL/40 HR square.
I’m happy with any grid that let’s me (correctly) choose Geoff Blum and Josh Reddick.
Duke Snider. Age has its advantages.
I went with recency biased Bellinger.
Don’t remember Duke but old enough to chose Davey Johnson for the Braves’ 40 HR guy.
Easiest 9/9 today. It did let me go for score though, so my best rarity score ever at 66
Same, got to 56 on rarity.
Biggio at 0.4% on one square and Bagwell at 1% on another helped.
