Fucked me up too
Yesterday I went 9/9 because I was able to pull Mark Kotsay out of the air after at least 10 minutes of thinking with no real guess on square 5/9, which was A’s/Marlins. Rarity score of 70…easily my best.
Today I went 8/9 with a 273 score. I simply couldn’t come up with a player for the 4/9 square. I guess Don Baylor knowing he’d played for the Angels, and hoping he’d played for the Giants, but of course I was wrong.
Rarest pick for me today was Wally Joyner in square 5/9 for 4%.
I went with Big Sexy. No Funk and Wagner around to check that name. Is that right? Jim Edmonds.
I used him for STL/SD. And I forgot Andrelton Simmons entirely.
8/9 173 – I really thought Nate Colbert had hit 40, but topped out at 38 (twice).
6/9. Today’s was harder than it looked. Giants/Cardinals is not nearly as obvious as one might think. The Gold Gloves and 40+HR guys were a snap.
The rarest for me today was Larry Walker at 0.5%. A frickin’ Hall of Famer. That’s sad.
I used Caminiti for the SD/40 homer square. Giants/Cards was hard. I used Jack Clark a few days ago (was incorrect by the way) but it served me well just a few days later on today’s game. Just playing the game will make you better moving forward.

Rise and grind.
9/9, 60 rarity score, Jim Fregosi Angels GG was 1%, Ken Boyer Cardinals GG .04%.
Went almost all guys who were in the original RBI baseball today, only 2 that weren’t were Cammy and Greg Vaughn.
Wow, we were on similar wave lengths. I also had Clark, Templeton, Davis, Joyner, and Vaughn.
I had my worst effort yet, but was demoralized when I swung and missed on Clint Hurdle for square 7/9 today. After that I kind of mailed it in and paid dearly for it with a score over 500. Clint Hurdle was correct in terms of managing both teams but this game only counts players. I won’t make that mistake again moving forward.
Hurdle went to my High School several years ahead of me (graduated with my aunt actually)
He was a town hero. He and “Neon” Leon Bright.
Never met him but from all accounts, is a great guy.
Bill Madlock played for PIT and DET? I had no recollection of that.
Really? White Sox Cy Young winner? Come on
8/9 today
Really? White Sox Cy Young winner? Come on
8/9 today
That one stumped me. I was surprised it was so few.
And see, I think Babe Ruth should be acceptable for the Red Sox/Orioles. The powers that be disagree.
85% of participants did NOT pick Carlton Fisk for White/Red Sox.
I’m old.
I went with the obvious Chris Sale.
I went 8/9 and missed CWS CY as well. Went Bobby Thigpen bc I remember him having that one year with 1000 saves. But then I remembered relief pitchers almost never win the Cy Young. Black jack McDowell was my next guess. I was this close.
