Immaculate Grid MVP for NL West teams.
9/9 today, zero exciting picks, lowest was Greinke with 2%(!) as Arizona’s all-star.

Guys that walked a lot (usually power hitters) are poor picks for 200 hits. Rickey happened to walk a lot Vivek his short stature along with that crouch at the plate.
9/9 today with second best rarity score at 83.
Bagwell always posts a great rarity score when you can use him.
8/9 today, only because I put Kenny Lofton in the wrong spot. Argh!
I did get to use Rocky Colavito (0.3%), Vic Wertz (0.2%), and Rabbit Maranville (0.03%) for a rarity of 117
In perusing the possible answers in the Cle/Det square found Hoot Evers.
Played from 1941-1956 (missed 3 years for military service)

Career .278 hitter with 98 HR
Gonna file that away because I love the name.
I looked at the Cle/Det square for an hour. Finally remembered Vern Ruhle came from Detroit and then went to Cleveland after the Astros. He checked in at 0.06%.
Harvey Kuenn (the other side of the Colavito trade) is another good option.
That’s a good one. That trade is famous for the Colavito Curse, but the player the Indians got in return (Kuenn) is less well known. And Kuenn is one of those guys who looked like he was 80 years old when he was 40.
Boy, Kuenn was well known when he was playing.
True, but how many today know he’s the non-cursed half of the Rocky Colavito trade?
How many know Rocky Colavito, for that matter.
He was great in First Blood.
Today’s grid hit a sweet spot for me. My rarity score wasn’t very good, but it’s one of the few times that I didn’t have to sit and scratch my head over at least one of the entries.
I liked today’s too. Mike Cuellar, Luke Scott & Nellie Fox totaled less than 1.7%. Willie Mays came in at 3% and Sammy Sosa at only 4%. The rest of the 9/9 was pretty obvious, though I only used one of the most popular.
9/9 and got to use an old high school teammate of mine at 0.005%
9/9 RS 85 Eddie Matthew 40 homers/500 homers was my lowest at 1%. Reynaldo Lopez was my only active player.
9/9 with a 30 rarity today – most of which was due to Vida Blue. I stuck with memories of my baseball card collection except for Blue and Kirk Saarloos. Getting to use Ted Kluszewski and Dr. Strangeglove on the same grid was a treat. My 9th was taking a flyer on the Braves 200K spot, which came up at 0.2% for me. Sweet.
8/9 today. I had Dave Parker in the A’s/Reds square and whiffed on the Pirates/Reds square, which was the easiest one and the one in which Dave Parker was most frequently used.
That’s where I used Kluszewski.
Got 9 out of 9 but my choice for the Pitts 200K square killed my score - it was my last square and didn’t want to mess up my grid so I played it safe with Cole - I think the 72 for him was the highest individual score I have gotten.
ETA - It was nice getting to use two knuckleball pitchers today Niekro and Wakefield
Yes – Bob Veale worked pretty well there for 3%. I remembered him because he went along with Bob Friend & Vern Law and I was always surprised that he was the one with the gaudy K numbers.
