I’ve gotten myself into a slump. After 4 straight immaculate I’ve now gone 3 days of not. 7/9 today. Could not for the life of me think of a Brewer/Rockie or National/Red
No, they traded him mid-season to the Reds. The Expos signed him because they they thought he might, but as you might expect, he was terrible, and they finally threw the Reds a bone so he could get the record with them. It still took him an entire nuther season to get it he was so bad.
It was kind of sad to watch. He was determined to get the record, no matter how many years of suck and bloopers it took. And I’m not saying I wouldn’t have done the same thing. You don’t work all of those years to get to the Hall of Fame then just piss it away.
I’m not sure when the transition happened, but Rose went from a player I wanted to watch as a kid (head first slides!) to a completely creepy human being who makes my skin crawl.
There’s that picture of him and Tony Perez taking a shit next to each other with giant grins on their faces. That’s what I think about when I think of him now.
There is a .2 percent name that I got despite my terribleness at Immaculate Grid for the Rockies and Nationals. And bonus, I played high school ball with him.
