Apparently, the magic elixir was to play him more, not less.

Bregman needs to stop tinkering with his swing and thinking at the plate so damn much. Also, it wouldn’t hurt if he got his swagger back.

When he first came up in 2017, Bregman was a brash, young player who didn’t care who the Astros were playing nor who he was facing. He was going to do damage at the plate (remember his single against Kenley Jansen to win game 5 of the 2017 World Series) and the Astros would dominate on the field. Since the sign stealing scandal, that swagger and extreme confidence bordering on arrogance has disappeared from him.

Along with the reason to be confident and arrogant.

Bregman hasn’t been the same hitter since they de-juiced the ball. That’s not the whole story, but it’s a big part of it.

Also mind-boggling: Meyers has a higher OPS+ than Yordan or Yainer.

Meyers has been a nice surprise at the bottom of the lineup.

And Yordan and Yainer have been ass the last couple weeks

It started to disappear before his play declined. He began acting differently after the sign stealing scandal punishment was announced.
