Shrinking was great! I also just binged all three seasons of Mythic Quest. Apple has to have the highest batting average among the streamers.
In case you’re wondering how the Ted Lasso writers came up with a character as ridiculously over the top as “Zava”…they didn’t.
He is a sanitized imitation of the unhinged genius that is Zlatan “Ibra” Ibrahimovic.
Just caught the last 2 episodes of shrinking, that was great. Boop.
One of his best friends is a guy he met playing first person shooters on Xbox Live that didn’t realize who he was.
“I forget how skittish elderly people can be on account of the war” was a classic.
Ep 2 of this year’s Succession has to be a top 5 episode of the series, just fantastic.
And episode 3 is even better…damn
Anyone get into Beef yet? Gonna try and start it tonight.
I missed this news, but NFL Sunday Ticket is moving from Direct TV to YouTube.
Pricing varies, it’s outlined in this article:
It’s such a strange dynamic. I guess the NFL banks more by selling to an exclusive provider, but making it available to all providers would get their content to more people.
NFL don’t care. You’re guaranteed the “home” game every weekend plus at least one more. Plus the maybe Thursday/Sunday/Monday Night games. What’s the incentive for the NFL?
I would imagine that there is a chunk of Sunday Ticket subscribers who live in rural areas and still watch via satellite because they have shitty/no access to the internets.
All I know is my situation, and I extrapolate it out. The Texans are my team. If they’re on my local channel, I’ll watch. If they’re not, I’ll consider the Sunday Ticket, but if it’s a hassle to get the Sunday Ticket, I won’t get it, and therefore watch less NFL.
This is basically what happened with Thursday night games going to Amazon: I watched less NFL last year. Year over year, my interest in the NFL will wane, and I doubt my situation is unique.
Not anymore, they don’t.
They won’t be able to get it that way anymore.
Exactly. Maybe that segment of the customer base is too small to be a worry to the NFL, but they’ve just been kicked to the curb.
When was the last time the NFL cared about the poors?
It seems unlikely that the NFL hasn’t put together detailed economic models and decided that this approach maximizes their profit. I doubt that they give s shit whether that involves more or fewer viewers.
About the last time I cared about them?
