“That’s what I get for peeing next to John Holmes” is a line that should enter the popular vernacular.
Rainbow is my favorite episode so far, I think.
Rom-Communism
Roy’s description of sports punditry was absolutely perfect.
Here’s one for the The Person Who Cancelled This Should Be Criminally Charged list: People of Earth. That was a fantastic show that unfortunately only ran two seasons.
There was a UK show called The Strangerers (that you won’t find streaming anywhere that I know of) that was cancelled after 1 series that fits the list above.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned here, but “Home Before Dark” on Apple TV+ is a surprising sleeper show. The 2nd season is complete now, so there’s plenty to get into. Yes, the protagonist is a child, but the subject matter is not at all childish.
The style is a little odd. I think it’s a remake of a Scandinavian show, now set in the pacific north west, but it has something of a retro feel while very much being set in current times. But it’s engrossing and entertaining without having to resort to violence, sex, profanity or CGI.
We’re enjoying that too
No violence, sex, or profanity? And I’m supposed to watch…why?
Well since there’s no cgi I’m guessing the effects are all scale models or stop action so there’s that.
Anyone watching Ozark?
So you can alert on it like you do Facebook ads?
I have heard great things but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
The third season was better than the second.
I am jonesing for the return of Ozark and Succession. Also, the last Lasso episode was the best of the season for me. So many great lines
Was anyone else a bit weirded out by the Ted Lasso Christmas episode? Seemed like they should’ve held that one until, you know, Christmas, seeing as how it was a self-contained episode. Also, it was really cheesy.
I hate to say this, but Ted Lasso is really cheesy. In a manly sort of way.
It has cheesy moments, sure. But the Christmas episode could air on the Hallmark channel in December and no one would bat an eye.
yeah. and the hallmark channel is probably broadcasting Christmas shows tonight.
If the tv season spans an entire soccer season, it’s going to have Christmas in the middle.
I’m only weirded out by the sound of Keely’s voice.
