Saw garland’s “warfare.”
High expectations were met.

Horror, boredom, confusion, madness, pain, heroism, comraderie…check.

Asks “why” and doesn’t anwswer the question. First rate.

Disney has confirmed a new Star Wars trilogy, and also a new standalone “Star Wars Story” called “Starfighter” starring Ryan Gosling.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Gosling is pretty solid, so I have a bit of hope

Is that a new hope?

better than 1999 hope I guess

I hope so hopefully.

It’s the hope that kills you.

1999 was a great year. Except for Star Wars.

My favorite Astros team of all time.

Why did Ripley stay on the shuttle for 57 years?

The cat was comfortable.

Please do not fuck this up.

Can they really make a shared universe movie that doesn’t suck balls?

That’s pretty much all I need to hear. Same with either/both of the Cohen Bros.

How comparable to Black Hawk Down is it?

Just “experience” wise? There’s another one called “The Outpost” along those same lines.

What universe is being shared here?

Predator ties into Alien somehow, I think

Shared universe with Alien. Unfortunately, the actual Alien vs. Predator movies all suck worse than a hug to the face.

Notably, in this trailer, Elle Fanning’s eyes roll back white like the android in Alien: Romulus. It might just be an easter egg, but putting it in the teaser trailer suggests there may be a xenomorph lurking somewhere.

Definitely a fan of both…individually not as much.

Havent seen outpost…will watch it.

Very different from black hawk down. In “warfare” one of the co-directors was a member of the seal team personally involved in the event depicted in the film. Most of the film occurs in real-time. It’s a dramatization that tries to depict the good, bad, and ugly of a harrowing experience. It’s a survival horror movie, made by and about the americans. Black hawk down is a familiar mix of modern weaponry with an old-fashioned cowboys vs. indians plot.
Warfare will not influence people to enlist.
