Speaking of heist movies, Vas Blackwood - who played Rory Breaker in Lock, Stock - turned 63 today. The heist here being, of course, half my life.
Meanwhile thereâs a small person being lowered into the roof by a fishing pole while the French inspectors all focus on the ladder.
RIP Hervé Villechaize.
Put the kids to bed and fire up Tubi for some absolute Halloween schlock with extra cheese.
I saw two movies this past week. One I canât stop thinking about: âIf I had legs Iâd kick youâ starring Rose Byrne and Conan OâBrien (???). I canât say itâs an enjoyable movie, probably the most stress inducing thing Iâve ever seen, but Rose Byrne was fantastic and unforgettable.
The other one was Bugonia. I hated it so much Iâm still mad.
I really enjoyed One Battle After Another.
Good to read. Havenât seen it, but itâs on my need-to-see radar.
Glad to hear that. I havenât seen it yet, but I plan to.
I saw Caught Stealing, and it had its moments, but overall it was kind of meh.
I hate Yorgos Lanthimos so much. I hope he never makes another movie. Everything from him is âooOOOoOoooOo look at me Iâm so twisted, Iâm a twisted little pervert, look at meeeeeeâ
I hope he makes a lot more movies for the perverts like me who enjoy them.
I watched Frankenstein. Fucking fabulous, damn near perfect adaptation.
In theaters this week?
Neflix
If you like that kind of thing, the new Predator movie is quite fun.
More of a âfound familyâ feel good after school special than what i was expecting. Silly me thought it would be scify action horror, which it is, a little bit.
Frankenstein is showing tonight at river oaks at 9pm. Seems to be the last showing on their calendar. Monday november 10 9pm. Fyi
I finally got around to watching House of Dynamite.
My advice? Donât.
House of dynamite. The multi-part structure was good (Weapons used it in a similar way recently too). Always glad to see Jared Harris in a movie. Stringer Bell was a nice suprise. Thought the broad and thick incompetence strained credulityâŠthen i recalled the current cast of characters in our current regime.
Listening to Rebecca Fergusonâs ever-evolving accent was fun.
