Ex-Astros News 2021

Scott Kazmir called up by the Giants. Last pitched in the bigs in 2016.

ETA:
Impressive. Got the start against the Dodgers today and allowed just a single and a solo shot over 4 innings.

Saw something interesting about Kazmir that I did not know. His contract with the Dodgers in 2016, at least part of it, was deferred, so the Dodgers are still paying him $8MM in 2021. I’m sure it happens more often than we realize, but it must really suck to be writing checks to tonight’s mound opponent.

Bobby Bonilla wins the prize. Checks were mailed to him monthly at his assisted living facility.

Thot you were kidding, Coach, but you weren’t!

“…It’s a check the Mets have been cutting annually since 2011, and they will send a seven-figure sum to Bonilla, every July 1, through 2035… ($1,193,248.20)”

PS: Don’t know about the assisted living facility, but 2035 is a long way away…

That word you used, thot, is an acronym for That Hoe Over There. The word I think you meant ti use is spelled t-h-o-u-g-ht. As in, “he didn’t give it much thought.”

So Gerit Cole gave a disastrous interview yesterday when asked about the use of foreign substances. Cole’s spin rates on 4 of his 5 types of pitches were all drastically down in his last start in which he got knocked around. I wonder how the Yankees and their fans feel (not that I REALLY care) about that massive contract now if Cole isn’t going to be the same pitcher without the use of foreign substances (assuming he’s been using).

Yeah, this is pretty rough:

Of course he is using, and he probably did in Houston. Tyler Bauer called him out about this very thing.

“He played in Houston. Figures.”

Yep, nothing in NY counts.

What I’m looking forward to is the first time someone is seriously injured by an errant pitch after the sticky-stuff crackdown happens.
