Ex-Astros News 2021

You as well.

Nope, and if you want to be ignored, keep running your mouth. This entire board has called you a dumbass, and you keep proving it with every stubborn post. Be quiet, and maybe folks will forget this thread. Whatever reputation you had before, you have destroyed.

Betts was the #1 RFer in OAA in 2020. This season he’s #31. Is the stat bullshit? Or could there be some explanation for such a precipitous drop from one season to the next?

Could that explanation be, I don’t know, a nagging injury to his lower body?

So… yeah. At least this year, Tucker is a better RFer than Betts.

I’m sure there are plenty of people not responding who agree with me. You have been trying to insult me as you have always done to a poster who don’t agree with you.

I’m sure there are plenty of people not responding because they have you on ignore.

Although he’s playing 2nd, this is a pretty good catch against us the other day. He was moving quite well.

Could it be that he is healthy now? He had just come off the IL a few days prior

Oh for fuck’s sake. Do you think it’s possible that the Dodgers are continuing to play Betts - instead of simply shutting him down - because even with the busted hip they’re still better off with a great player like him in the lineup than without? Why else would the Dodgers be trying him out at 2B so that he doesn’t have to run at full tilt as much? And don’t you think it’s possible that a 5-time Gold Glover (as you are so fond of reminding us) is capable of making good plays even while dealing with a bad hip?

(Also, with that play in particular it’s obvious that the Dodgers had the shift on and Betts didn’t have a lot of ground to cover.)

This whole Betts thing is beside the point anyway. Your original argument (Reddick over Tucker) was preposterous, it’s still preposterous, and now you’re looking for any possible explanation to justify it. Just stop.

I think we all need accept that he has beaten us.

You know the saying. Never get into an argument with an fool. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Wasn’t the original argument that Redick should be signed as a 4th OF since he is DFA’d?

Because he is superior defender to Tucker?

The bottom line is its a terrible idea.

  1. Reddick is toast. As much as love and appreciate what he did in 2017 ( and the next 3 years too despite reduced production each year)

  2. The players he would replace, Jake Meyers, is young and full of potential. He has earned a chance and could/should be better than Reddick in 2021. Reddick is what he is- no upside.

  3. the 40 man roster is OVER full considering injured players than must be added back in the near future.

So, you think the Astros should sign a washed up Reddick at the expense of a young high potential youngster which would require DFAing another player?

Don’t keep this going, please. Put him on ignore like most everyone will.

I had no idea Betts ever played 2B until the last LA series. I was shocked at the play he made on Altuve’s? liner to RF.

I don’t doubt that. BUT I’ll bet you $100.00 that there are more people not responding who disagree with you. ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!

Glad I will not see the gloating.

Tip of hat for Toro since arriving in a less than enthusiastic Seattle clubhouse!!!

PS: The writer credited the hostile reception of Astros away games for steeling Toro’s will to produce in the face of the deep animus he faced…
