Ex Astros 2025

2004 Astros had Kent, Bagwell, Biggio, Clemens, Pettitte, Beltran and Berkman. Oswalt and Lidge too.

Seems as if Pettitte and Wade Miller both got injured in 2004. Oswalt and Clemens led the pitching staff. Too bad all 4 of those guys weren’t healthy all season. Miller was a very good pitcher before injuries got him.

I used to try to only buy tickets to starts by Miller or Oswalt back in the early aughts. Only time it ever burned me is when they altered the rotation order and I got stuck with a Tim Redding start.

Man, that 04 team, if healthy and you keep Wagner… Oswalt, Pettitte, Clemens and Miller handing the ball off to Lidge, Dotel and Wagner… Lineup with Bagwell, Kent, Berkman and Beltran, Biggio hadn’t completely fallen off at the plate yet either. That was a damn good team that could have easily been so much better

Looking at the baseball reference for the 04 team, I forgot how weird Richard Hidalgo’s career was

They were under .500 when Williams was fired and ended up more than 20 games over .500 with Garner.

That 2004 team is up there with 2019 for best all time Astro rosters. If only Pettitte had avoided injury.

The 1991 team that had the worst record in the NL

Mike Scott, Jim DeShaies, Daryl Kile, Pete Harnisch, Curt Schilling, Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Ken Caminiti, Luis Gonzalez, Steve Finley, Kenny Lofton.

None of them in their primes. Timing is everything.

You left out this guy. Astros Hall of Fame | Bill Doran | Houston Astros

Damn right!

The people have spoken

I’m confused by the “championships” entries. I guess Doran gets credit for being traded to the Reds in 1990, but what was Kent’s championship? I’m probably mistaken but looking at his B-R page the only team he was on that played in the world series was the 2002 Giants who lost to the Angels.

These need to be Astros-only numbers

You are correct, I am not sure why that has a one in the championship column.

Wow you guys are high maintenance!
Here is the best I could do. It includes the 1990 Cincy numbers for Doran but everything else is all Astros.

Morgan and Kent aren’t wearing their Astros caps.

Wait, Kent was never an All-Star? That doesn’t compute.
