At least Billy D was on the Reds when the won the world series, even though he didn’t play in it. Kent was traded from the Blue Jays to the Mets for David Cone during the 1992 season, though that was more of contribution to the championship than Doran provided to the Reds.

Martín Maldonado is joining the Atlanta Braves as a special assistant for major-league operations, source tells @theathletic.com. Maldonado, 39, has long been viewed as a future manager or coach. He announced his retirement in October, but will play for Puerto Rico in the WBC.
