Ex Astros 2025

Weren’t the Cubs in on him too? Neither here but there really. He’s not going to get the same kind of annual salary but he seems likely to get a longer deal, which he wanted last offseason but couldn’t get.

I didn’t think so, at least not seriously, but maybe they were. I’m not sure what their thinking is on Tucker, but maybe they can back up the armored truck for mediocre production going into his declining years to make up for his loss.

Because the remainder of the deal is two years, and he’s looking for 7-8 years of guaranteed money.

He turned that down last year in favor of high AAV for fewer years. If he thinks he’s getting both and $300 million + now, he’s even dumber than he looked with that mustache.

He’s looking for a sucker.

That is a bold, bold move by Bregman. He must certainly believe they hype he generates on behalf of himself.

Maybe he’s thinking team GM’s are not looking at the data.

Problem is, he flushed the only one out last year and has now told them to shove it up their ass. Fool me twice…can’t get fooled again.

I think he’s going to regret turning down 6/$156 from Houston last year.

He’d only have to get more than what, 5/111? He’ll easily clear that.

He turned down 6/$175 from the Tigers last year.

He will regret turning that down too.

His ego will rewrite the story in a way that preserves the order of the universe.

Well, he made $40 million this year, so he would just need 5/$135 to break even. What he’s going to regret is letting loose the $80 million bird he already had in hand.

It’s a bet against himself, I guess, and probably not a bad one unless he finds a whole new gear in his 30s.

Maybe Bregman is leaving the Red Sox to return to the Astros? Those HEB ads must pay good money, and the salsa sales have to have declined precipitously.

Miraculously, HEB is surviving without Bregman’s help. BTW, largest share-of-market of any grocery chain in the U.S.

My son laments the departure of the Breggy-bomb sauce at Pluckers.

If I’m not mistaken, he deferred some money on that contract this year. My lack of caring has prevented me from researching what happens to that since he opted out. If memory serves me correctly, it was in the neighborhood of $20mm per season. I’m guessing he receives that well after he is retired.

I lament the fact a plate of 10 chicken wings and a side at Pluckers costs nearly $21, and a 15 wing plate with a side costs $29. I can have a much better meal for those prices.

If he deferred salary this year, it’ll simply be paid out when agreed. His opting out doesn’t change that.
