Electric Vehicles

I was trying for the Peter Sellers voice, but it doesn’t translate to the written word well.

More money they don’t have down the Xitter.

The new Land Cruiser looks fantastic.

Available in a hybrid so I’m sticking it in this thread.

3 trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser, and Land Cruiser First Editon

Here’s the 1958:

That’s a good looking vehicle. I don’t know how “retro” it is, but it’s a sharp design. Wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one.

Evolution of blue checks on Twitter:

  1. Blue checks were a highly sought-after verification of a users identity
  2. Musk buys Twitter
  3. Musk offers a blue check to anyone who will pay him $8/month
  4. Blue checks become a badge of shame
  5. Musk allows those who pay for a blue to to hide their blue check

Counterpoint: just stop paying for a blue check and the blue check goes away automatically.

They finally built one.

Want.

This is absolutely fucking nuts!

0 to 200mph in 10 seconds. Not a typo. TWO HUNDRED!

This proves that the “nag” is only there to preserve Tesla’s defenses in court such that, when his cars drive themselves into other cars or lakes and the like, the “FSD” wasn’t in charge because the driver had his hands on the wheel. Musk wants the toys for him, and blame for everyone else.

His cars routinely wreck into stopped emergency vehicles because the “FSD” gets confused by the flashing lights. This only started happening once he abandoned radar, forcing the software to rely purely on cameras, even to the point of disabling the radars on cars equipped with them.

Fun fact: disabling the radars also disabled the rear park assist, so if you bought a Tesla because of such features, tough fucking titty. The tech that has been on base model GM ecoboxes for decades doesn’t work on your high-tech, cutting-edge Tesla.

Musk argues for his cars in part because they can be improved by software update. But there is also a history of the cars getting less capable and/or downright homicidal following software updates too. So buy a Tesla at your own risk: at any time Musk may “update” you into jail or an early grave.

I still can’t get over how absolutely stupid looking their pickup is.

It’s taken so long to get that piece of shit to market that it will be DOA.

I also still can’t get over the “rollout” video of it failing to drive over a curb and up a slight grassy incline.

Normally I’d agree with you, but the Muskhumping idiots will still buy it despite the fact it’s a complete piece of shit.

The Feds are investigating 16 crashes involving Teslas and emergency vehicles.

One of my former clients was very proud of the fact that he was one of the first people in Korea to preorder the Cybertruck.

Oh I showed him this. He was unperturbed.

I wonder who is going to be the first person to drown in a CyberTruck when testing its ability to “temporarily act as a boat” or just unfortunate enough to be driven into a body of water by the Autopilot.

In regular cars, you can pull out the head rest and use the stalk to smash out the windows in the event that you’re going underwater. The CT is equipped with “armored” glass so, once it decides it’s bored with being a boat - maybe following a software update about which you didn’t know - you’re fucked.

I guess you hold your breath and wait for the next download. The only thing that might save you is that Musk is an idiot and an inveterate liar.

That second throw is the wimpiest short-arm you will ever see, and it still caused catastrophe damage.

Speaking of Musk and windows…

According to a WSJ report in July, plans for “Project 42” resembled Apple’s store at Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York, and took the shape of a twisted hexagon on waterfront land with Tesla’s Austin factory behind it. The WSJ said the proposed building at the Texas headquarters had been described as a house for Musk

Other images of the project showed a large glass box that appeared to include a residential element, the WSJ reported. It said Tesla lawyers and board members had looked at the project after employees raised concerns about how a multimillion dollar order for glass was going to be used.
