Federal court Judge Lynn Hughes ordered today that the City of Houston must allow the Republican Party to proceed with its in-person convention in Houston. I guess they get what they deserve, but Iām sorry for everybody else.
That federal judge can go to hell. When the all-Republican Texas Supreme Court struck down the appeal in a 7 to 1 vote, that should have been the end of it.
Or the Republican Party could act like grownups and cancel it themselves.

Texas Tribune says the Republicans will stick to a virtual convention. These people are an embarrassment. The stink they made over this only sticks to them.

The Texas Republican Convention is the largest political convention in the US. Usually it has about 10,000 attendees. This year they were expecting 6000, but people werenāt registering. Iāve heard it said that the chair is worried about losing, and that he and his executive committee wanted a live convention because they thought they would have better control of his reelection vote. Iāve also heard that people werenāt registering to attend the convention, and that Mayor Turner was getting calls from Republican leadership asking him to kill it.
The Lynn Hughes decision is not good, whatever the outcome.
I cannot believe that Lynn Hughes is still alive and thus still doing the work of Satan.
