COVID-19

I made a reservation at an inn in New York today. They made me email both our vaccination cards before they’d take my reservation.

Go ask ANY of these anti covid vaxxers, since they all 100% love anecdotal stories, it’s their life blood. How many people do you know with adverse reaction to covid, vs the vaccine.

Had this argument with a coworker. We have had 2 employees die from covid. Asked her who she knew who even had a bad reaction to the Vax. She walked away.

Humans seem generally terrible at relative risk assessment, particularly when we’re talking about differences that are several orders of magnitude. That, and the inability to plan on timelines longer than a few years, will ultimately be the end of the species.

I wouldn’t worry about that for the next century, it doesn’t seem like it could hurt us that much.

When will this happen, Seer of Catastrophes?

Maybe if the nurse gave them lollipops when they gave shots, there wouldn’t be so many anti-vaxxers. When I was a kid, I always got a lollipop from the doctor.

It’s insane that we just gloss over this.

The news media have more fish than they have time to fry, so they choose the menu. Covid deaths were the flavor of 2020 pre-vaxxing. Now covid deaths only seem fry worthy if it’s an anti-vaxxer that bites the hook.

That’s odd. The NYT reports 2,186 deaths for yesterday, which is the first time I’ve noticed them above 2,000. 2,186 is a lot, but the numbers in the tweet seem high.

Always knew he was a wrong’un. Those plum-smugglers he used to wear gave it away.

He has made incredible disinformation statements. Fuck him.

I don’t know why, but I almost choked on my coffee when I read “plum-smugglers”.

One of my life comforts as a sports fan is knowing that John Stockton never won a ring.

The way he constantly punched opponents in the nuts was a good clue.

That certainly wouldn’t have been allowed in Utah.

Neither did Karl Malone. Which was a good thing really because, judging from his playing career, if he ever put it on he’d become unbalanced and immediately fall over.
