Quick timeout:
When used for ED sildenafil is called Viagara.
When used for Pulmonary Hypertension (PAH) it is called Revatio.
Whatever it is called, it acts as a vasodilator and its effect is not limited to just the pudendal artery (recall the patients who took nitrates in addition to Viagara and dropped dead).
It has been used for years in select patients with PAH with varying degrees of success.
Patients with severe COVID pneumonitis often develop pulmonary hypertension and subsequent right heart failure. For ICU patients inhaled prostaglandin drugs are often used, with marginal if any success but itâs done. For non-ICU pts (or facilities where inhaled therapies are not available) sildenafil is a reasonable alternative. Albeit an alternative with no convincing evidence of any efficacy.
So for hospitalized patients with severe COVID pneumonitis it is very reasonable to pursue that line of therapy. Again, the PAH is a consequence of the severe pneumonitis. It is not the cause. And typically those folks are in ICUs and more often than not theyâre intubated. Theyâre not at home checking Facebook.

Why is this a story? All the article states is that she got sick from a virus and she wasnât wearing a mask outside. Boy, they really got her.

Iâm not sure that - after avoiding Covid for 2 years in NYC and DC - her catching it within 5 seconds of arriving in Florida is quite the own they think it is.

The âsexual frustrationsâ part is real. Republicans vote for Lauren Boebert because they think if they do theyâll get to have sex with her (same reason they voted for Sarah Palin). They wonât vote for AOC because they know that even if they do, they wonât.
