I may have posted this already, but the UT coaches unanimously vetoed the PAC 10 for time zone reasons. Had UT not gone/stayed in the Big 12, they would have gone to the ACC. Dodds’ son was my law partner, and we were close friends. He kept strict confidentially for his dad and UT before things happened, but he would tell me stuff after the smoke had cleared.
Interesting. Thanks, Jim.
I do love college football. Can’t stand the No Fun League.
I guess A&M didn’t want to be the only dissenting vote.
They meant to vote no, but Vanderbilt was next to them at the vote and lied about which button was which.
Agreed. When that shit bag bud adams took the beloved Houston Oilers to nashvull, my nfl caring days were pretty much over.
Luv ya Blue.
That was great. On point in so many ways.
The Border Conference reference was superb.
The crazy thing about AZ and AZ State being in the Border Conference with Texas Tech is that they never played each other while they were in the conference.
I think you’re right about Tempe Normal (aka the School to the North). The UofA did play Tech, though, during their Border Conference days. Believe it was for seventeen seasons from the 1930’s through the 1950’s?
Always thought it would’ve been fun to revive that rivalry/series on a yearly basis.
A Baylor/Cal game has real possibilities.
In news that will excite no one, the Big 12 will again be…12.
If you’re a fan of UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, or BYU it’s exciting.
Agreed, and I hope these additions enable the Big 12 to remain a solid conference.
Remain??
At least the name will be correct again. And UH, UC, and UCF will be less likely to have their coaches poached.
Not that anyone would want Holgorsen.
You have your opinion; I have mine.
