I have had bad sports days with the Astros. Game Seven 2019, Game Six 1986, and Game Five 1980 are three which are still with me. Yesterday is right up there with them: UT blows a three TD lead to lose late to OU, and the Aggies blow a two TD lead but come back late to beat Alabama. I hope the Astros save my weekend tonight.
My hope is that the Horns died so that the Astros could thrive
I’ll do another recap, despite the Texas-OU game I still watched many more games throughout the the day and lost nearly every bit of money I bet to really focus the suffering. It’s been a hard year so far to determine who is good, Georgia is very good but the potential rankings get pretty murky after them. Iowa will be ranked number 2 but how good are they? Penn State was the better team without the qb injury but Iowa got the W so they will be 2. Cincinnati is good, but their schedule is not, they really NEED Notre Dame to win out and I don’t see that happening. Is Oklahoma good? I think that game says more about Texas than it did about OU, they will be ranked 3 or 4 but I still can’t see them running the table. They have played with fire every week, they will get burned. BYU came into the week looking like they might sneak into the conversation but looked pretty bad vs a down year Boise State team. Is Kentucky good? I think Kentucky might be good. Of course they play Georgia next week so that’ll be the end of that. Michigan wins a fun game but not one that really fills me with confidence that Michigan is that good, like with Texas Michigan has burned me one too many times. Playoff teams if I had to pick them based on the first 6 weeks? Georgia, Iowa, Cincinnati and Kentucky. Yes I said Kentucky, Kentucky has better wins than Oklahoma. Kentucky has beaten Florida and LSU in back to back weeks, they are undefeated. Like I said, they have to play Georgia next week so it’ll sort it out. Wish I had been able to enjoy the Arkansas Ole Miss game, I had it on the second TV but with Texas kicking me in the nuts I wasn’t able to pay much attention to the wildness of that game. And then there is A&M Bama. How the fucking hell did that happen? No seriously what the actual fuck? A&M couldn’t score on Colorado, they couldn’t score on Arkansas, they couldn’t score on Miss State, they score 41! on Bama? How!? Craziness happens in college football, this season has some 2007 vibes about it and honestly, let chaos reign. I’m ready to embrace it now.
42 points in the last three games combined.
41 on Bama.
You can’t explain that.
What no one can explain is the aTm’s QB play.
Clearly, they were stealing Alabama’s signs.
There seems to be a flag on every damn play of this UT-OSU game.
Yep.
UT gets a great start and a solid lead against a highly-ranked team from Oklahoma. Reminds me of something.
Well, that was a sudden change.
Horrible pass, DB read it the whole way
I obviously missed something. Where’s Overshown?
I missed it too. This is from 4 minutes ago:
Bijan already has 4 games with 3 TDs. Wow
What a complete horseshit personal foul call
Can’t drive the QB into the ground. Just tackle him and get off the field.
DL has been stout today.
I know that’s the rule, I understand in principle why the rule exists but that was “driving into the ground” in the spirit of the rule
All he did was tackle him, coming right off a block.
The Sark Longhorns still look like the look an awful lot like the Herman Longhorns with all the penalties
