I did not have a dog in the fight, and sleep was not having any part of me for a couple of hours.
I think most non-dog owners would agree this was one of the best Final Fours in a while. Three really great games between the best teams in the country.
There are times when I wish all my teams were terrible again just so I don’t feel the anxiety of hope.
I slept about 5 restless hours. I feel bad for Emmanuel Sharp. He’ll again be a main cog and possibly the team’s leading scorer next year. He’s a hell of a player – had an off night.
I have to remind myself in these situations that it’s better than not caring because your team is out of it two weeks into the season. And there are 62 other teams that participated in this tournament that would gladly exchange finishes with Houston.
Oh man, Matt. You are so right, as you usually are. This was a great Final Four.
I looked at the game clock at about the 5 minute mark and was disappointed there wasn’t 15 more minutes of game time to watch.
It was great even with how it turned out.
Longhorn football fans are well aware of that feeling of coming up just short. But there is always Vince Young and the Rose Bowl, too.
As a Cougar fan, the Joe Montana Cotton Bowl comeback and the 83 NCAA finals hurt more than last night but last night was worse than the 84 NCAA finals. 0-3 in the Championship game. That is great to get there but it’s starting to make me feel like how a Viking fan of a Bills fan must feel.
Not sure what comment you are replying to, but I was just watching a game last night.
Yeah, I realize that, sorry. I thought you were saying to Matt that you knew how he felt. Or could relate.

I hear ya.
Nope, I agreed with Matt’s comment about a great Final Four.
I have had similar heartbreaks with teams I coached or played on, but I try with all my might to never say “I know how you feel” in any context.
For every team that hoists the trophy there is another who was this close. Heartbreak and jubilation are but different sides of the same coin. It’s why we love competition.
My husband looked at me last evening and said: “Well, at least it’s baseball season.”
So your husband glanced your way…you looked back and said softly “what’s on your mind?” He replied…“baseball”. It don’t get no more damn romantic than that.

30 years next month, my dude. The man knows me well.
Finally back and caught up with work. What a great experience but gut wrenching loss. Sat 2 rows behind Jim Nantz and got to chat with him going into the stadium. I still can’t believe a guy like Sharp who has been so great ended the season dribbling off his knee then not getting a shot up. Credit to Walter Clayton Jr closing out on that last play, fantastic player.
Feel like if we played that game 10 times UH wins 5 Florida wins 5. But they made plays down the stretch to win their 3rd.
I was annoyed with how the game was officiated. 4 total fouls in the first half, then they call 26 in the second half. Florida did a better job of adjusting to the inconsistent whistles.
Uzan testing the draft waters, has until May 28th to come to his senses and return to UH.
