Who knows. I think he started into his shot, saw the guy flying at him, and did not shoot. No player that good leaves his feet on a fake.
It’s tough to get so close and come up short. It’s a paradoxical situation, it was a great season but the way it ended on a fucked up play, one that will go down in infamy and we will be subjected to seeing it replayed for the rest of eternity. It will haunt my dreams, excuse me while I vomit.
Yep.

Point taken, but 2 possessions, down a point then down 2, and they don’t get a shot off.
Didn’t execute.
Yeah, I don’t think those two possessions went as planned.

Who knows. I think he started into his shot, saw the guy flying at him, and did not shoot. No player that good leaves his feet on a fake.
He just looked to me like he had no intention of shooting, which is why he just had to put the ball on floor. He went “oh shit”. Someone else can listen to the post game to hear what he says about it.
In other news, the Astros just took a
3-2 lead in the 8th
I agree about the “oh shit” reaction, but I think he jumped to shoot then saw the guy on top of him. He could not come down with the ball (traveling) so he let go of it hoping one of his guys could get to it. He immediately blocked out a Gator. Beats me. I will look for comments tomorrow and watch YouTube highlights. I still nobody that good would leave his feet on a fake.
Two incredible games: the team which wins coming back from down 14 loses to a team coming back from 12 down.
Cougars made the plays against Duke. They did not against Florida. The sun will rise tomorrow, I guess.
I’m not saying he left his feet on a fake, I’m saying he left his feet without knowing what was in front of him, and should have faked, taken a dribble to the side, and had an open shot
Someday I’ll look at that play again and see what really happened and the rest of the story

I’m not saying he left his feet on a fake
Coulda fooled me:
“Which is why you don’t leave your feet on a shot fake?”
Ok, counselor, you got me on that verbiage, sorry I’m a little frazzled and pissed off
He either: was trying to shoot over a very tall outstretched guy in his face and then thought better of it, or
fucked up a pump fake
In either case you never leave your feet until you have a clean shot/pass
If it makes you Coog fans feel any better, Espada managed a lead in to a loss trying to save Abreu for the 9th.
Yes, I just watched the Stros doubledown on the late game bullshittery

I know that Hader probably wasn’t available, but fucking christ.
Espada probably didn’t tell Scott to go throw the ball anywhere but the zone

Espada probably didn’t tell Scott to go throw the ball anywhere but the zone
Scott was fucking horrible, but trying to sneak 3 high leverage outs in the 8th with a guy who was fucking trash in his last outing as well in a game you’d just got the lead is… something.
Sampson read Lefty’s post:
“He should have shot faked and got in the lane.” He thought maybe the ball slipped out of his hand and the Fla defender made a good play.
Great game.
Well, I didn’t sleep last night, and as expected, 4:30 came really early. But, the sun did indeed come up, and last night’s game is now pretty far down on my list of concerns. I’m proud of my school and the great season they had, but man, being a sports fan sure fucks with my goal of a more Stoic philosophy in life. Onward and upward!
I rewatched Hakeem, Clyde and the rest of the Rockets beat up on the Spurs, '95 WCF, then slept for about 3 hours.
Hey, no worries. I do not know what he was thinking or doing either. As I said in another post, Sampson agrees with you about what he should have done.
