College Basketball 24-25

Outstanding!! Can’t wait to try it.

I’ll be back in Texas in June on a sales trip with my distributor. Weather will be unpleasant but I’ll be able to monopolize a lot of time with the restaurant and retail buyers. I should have a decent of time in San Antonio; hopefully, we can meet up. And anyone else who’s also around, of course. Would be great to put names to faces.

He ran Schlossnagel off into Del Conte’s waiting arms.

That would be great.

I am more experienced dining north of 4-10 and west of 281. Not close to downtown. I have heard great things about Mixtli, which is barely south of downtown. And I can personally vouch for Leche de Tigre Cebicheria Peruana being very good, it’s a little southwest of Mixtli. Both walkable from the Marriott and the Alamodome. Both will likely be crowded too.

A night at Mixtli is an event, and possibly the best dining experience in SA. Reservations are certainly required as you are settling in to a meal with up to 9 courses, and a history lesson to boot. While I haven’t eaten there myself, my best compadre, an ex-GM of Ruth’s Chris, claimed that it was among the best meals of his life. Leche de Tigre is fun Peruvian fare, ceviche oriented. You also have Bliss in the area, and Nonna Osteria and Silo Prime at the Fairmount Hotel.

If you are actually on The Riverwalk, this might be helpful. Outside of these, most places are touristy
(expensive), and a bad product.

Four Brothers, inside the Omni La Mansion del Rio is pretty good. Not exactly on the river but just off it.

Reports are that Aggie, after an unsuccessful attempt at hiring Beard from Oh-lay Miss, tried to hire Grant McCasland from Texas Tech. McCasland reportedly gave them a quick “no”.

Thanks for all the great recs. For this trip I doubt we do any high-end dining, but if we do a couple of those places at Pearl look fantastic.

The King William area looks awesome, tons of funky bars and ice houses and restaurants. If UH advances, bar hopping over there on Sunday might be the plan.

I think Saturday we will definitely start near Esquire, hit it up for a few and then a another spot or two as we make out way to the Marriott for the team send off. Then walk over to the stadium for the end of Auburn/Florida.

Mixtli looks amazing. On the list for my next trip back to San Antonio.

Well, my tickets fell through yesterday (corporate box, out of town guy wasn’t coming, then changed his mind) so I’ll be watching at home and posting with you miscreants.

Great read

Florida and Auburn might go down to the last basket.

I really wish the Cougars were playing the early game. I am ridiculously impatient on these types of nights.

Me too. My anxiety level is stuck on high.

I’m not a fan of Chrysler slapping the Jeep brand on their puny SUVs. Even the Grand Cherokee and Waggoner have abandoned the “Willys” body type. And the “Willys” body type is the only true Jeep.

I’ve given up trying to understand what constitutes a foul in this game.

You’re confused now. Wait 'til the next game, you’ll be dismayed.

Basically if a player wearing red scowls at a player wearing blue, it’ll be a foul. A bone will have to be showing for a player in blue to commit one.
