College Basketball 2023 - 2024

But for the officials, KU would have gone down to TCU also. Tough conference.

At some Big XII basketball thing, Kelvin Sampson said something like “this conference is like going to the dog park and wondering ‘where are the lap dogs…every one is a big dog’”.

It’s tougher than the halcyon days of the ACC.

In spite of more dreadful officiating.

Texas Tech wins a tough, ugly game vs Kansas State 60-59. Tech now 3-0 in Big XII play.

TCU is definitely a team to be reckoned with.

Oof.

A little too casual bringing the ball up with 6 seconds down 1.

Push it and pressure the defense.

Oh well.

AP Top 25 is out and the Big XII has nearly a third at eight teams.

Kansas, Houston, Baylor, Oklahoma, BYU, TCU, Iowa State, and Texas Tech.

It is an impressive number but it is still early. Some of the teams outside the rankings are liked by the computer projections and there are some ranked teams that aren’t liked by the computers. It will be interesting to see how that balances out over time.

Cincinnati and TCU trade clanking free throws at the end of regulation. Overtime in Cincy tied at 67.

No easy games.

Cincinnati wins in OT 81-77. Both teams are 2-2 in conference play.

BYU with a surprisingly easy game against Iowa State. They’ve got a 20 point lead with 2:30 left in Provo. BYU goes 2-2 in Conference as the Cyclones fall to 2-2.

Baylor no longer unbeaten in Conference as they lose to Kansas State. Both teams are now 3-1.

Kansas overwhelms Oklahoma State. The Cowboys seem to be the only Big XII team completely devoid of hap.

The Coogs are good. They take an 8 point lead into the locker room at halftime. To say the refs are “letting them play” is an understatement. It’s a slugfest. Tech has not faced this good of a defense all year. UH has been shooting lights out from 3. Hopefully for Tech, they’ll regress to the mean on their shooting, because the Coog’s defense won’t relent.

UCF beat UT 77 to 71 in Austin. Johnny Dawkins always has his team ready to play.

What an absolute pantload by the Longhorn big men tonight. Absolutely dominated on the boards and in the paint, and minus a huge night from bench player IT Horton, Texas loses by 20+.

Woof.

Also another fantastically horrible night from the refs. The game was ridiculously overly physical and they never had control over it.

This team is shockingly bad

But Asmus passed Larry Bird in career scoring!

Coogs whoop up on Tech at the Fertita Center 77 to 51.
