Hometown scoring, IMO, as there was a force out at 2nd. It was hard hit, but a play that should have been made, IMO.
If you have to leave your feet to field a ball, it is not a normal play. The ball was past him when he got his glove on it. Here is the replay.
Texasâs bats have come to life in game two. 6-0 in the 3rd
Finally saw your video. I relent, the scorer got it correct
Btw, Robbins is just wow. Incredible power these last two days.
Texas holds on, in a total nail biter, 7-6. Walked the bases loaded after 2 outs, but a grounder to 3rd completes the game. These games have been dramatic.
Game three was never in doubt as Texasâs bats stayed hot and Auburnâs never warmed up. 5-0 win for the Longhorns.
Somehow Todd Whitting not only beat Texas, but spotted them a 7-0 lead! That has to be a 1/10000000 level event.
Halfway through the SEC season 9 teams are either 8-7 or 7-8 in conference play.
7-8 - Bama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Ark
7-8 - Miss St, Ky, OU, Tenn, Vandy
Those teams are #5 through #13 in the conference standings right now.
Tight conference
Whatever UT person decided that Aidan Robbins was a player they should target deserves a raise.
I went back and looked at the preseason rankings I posted to start this thread. With two weeks in the regular season, half of the top 8 are still in the top eight in average rankings (D1, Athletic, BA, USA/Coaches):
UCLA - 1 (RPI 1)
Texas - 3 (RPI 3)
Ga Tech - 4 (RPI 2)
Auburn - 6 (RPI 4)
North Carolina is at 2 after starting the season at 9, current RPI 6
Georgia started the season at 12 but is currently at 5, but with an RPI of 16.
Texas A&M started the year down at 25 but is currently at 8, with an RPI of 8
Kansas started the year unranked and is now at 7 with an RPI of 14
The big disappointment is LSU who was at 2 to start the year and is unranked with an RPI of 55.
Two dangerous teams for the tournament might be USC and Alabama. Both started the year unranked an have an average ranking just out of the top 16 but have much higher RPIs (Bama 5, USC 10).
Heading into the final regular season the top 16 teams in RPI are:
- UCLA (Average Ranking - AR - 1)
- Ga. Tech (AR - 2)
- Auburn (AR - 5.3)
- Texas (AR - 5.3)
- North Carolina (AR - 2)
- Alabama (AR 15.5)
- FSU (AR - 10.8)
- USC (AR - 16)
- So. Miss. (AR - 10.5)
- Texas A&M (AR - 10.5)
- Florida (AR - 14.8)
- Miss State (AR - 12.3)
- Ole Miss (AR - 18)
- Georgia (AR - 4.5)
- Nebraska (AR - 21.3)
- Oregon State (AR 7.3)
Those ranked in the top 16 but do not have RPI in top 16 are:
22 Kansas (AR - 15.3)
26 Arkansas (AR - 12.8)
Keep an eye on these unranked teams who have a top 25 RPI
Wake Forest - RPI of 17
Virginia - RPI of 23
Missouri State - RPI of 24
