College Baseball 2025

My alma mater curb stomps one of my best friends from flight school’s alma mater, Cal Poly, scoring 2 TDs and PATs to win 14-0.
Arizona hit 15 HRs in 3 games utilizing Nike U’s minor league stadium in Eugene.
They wait to see about their Super Regional fate.

Well done, BatCats.
BEAR DOWN.

Murray State was leading Ole Miss 12-3 in the 7th

Single, HBP, BB, BB, BB, single, single, and it’s 12-8

Down to their last strike, OU softball hits a 2-run game tying HR.

OU had never been shut out since 2019, and was down 2-0.

To the 8th…Ole Miss with a single, another BB, and a HR and it’s a 1-run game.

Tech scores in the bottom of the seventh to end Okie’s dynasty of 4 consecutive national championships.

Murray State holds on to knock off #10 Ole Miss.

And LSU is trailing Little Rock.

I look forward to Sankey’s presser to discuss the SEC performance.

No. 6 LSU comes back with three in the 9th to beat Little Rock, but No. 16 Southern Miss could not complete the comeback, falling to Miami. So that’s seven of the national seeds that got knocked out in the regionals. Two Super Regionals will feature two unseeded teams, as Miami will host Louisville and Duke will host Murray State.

The ACC made a statement this tournament with five teams making the supers.

ACC (Miami, UNC, Louisville, Duke, FSU)
SEC (Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, UT(Knoxville)
Big XII (Arizona, WVU)
Big 10 (UCLA)
DI Independent (Oregon State)
American Athletic Conference (UTSA)
Sun Belt (Coast Car)
Ohio Valley (Murray State)

Super Matchups with RPI Ranking:
3 Auburn v 8 Coastal Carolina
5 Arkansas v 11 Tennessee
6 UNC v 27 Arizona
7 Oregon State v 14 Florida State
10 LSU v 28 West Virginia
15 UCLA v 25 UTSA
31 Duke v 88 Murray State
32 Louisville v 41 Miami

I’m all in on UTSA and Murray State from here on out. So they’re doomed.

Day one super regional scores:
UNC 18-Arizona 2
Louisville 8- Miami 1
Oregon State 5 - Florida State 4 (10)
Coastal 7 - Auburn 6 (10)
Auburn’s 9th and 10th innings ended on line drives to infielders that doubled the lead runner on second with one out. Brutal way to lose. Auburn also was 1-11 with RISP. Ouch

BatCats weren’t much better. Had multiple chances when the game was 5-1 and even loaded the bases when it 8-1, but I think they went something like 1-9 with RISP. Ugh, just brutal.

AZ first baseman hugging the line, playing “no doubles”, and the ball goes by his right side for an RBI double. Oof.

Miami hangs on to beat Louisville to force a Game 3. Arizona leading UNC, and Murray State and Duke are tied 2-2 early. What a great day for baseball.

Cardiac Cats win a thriller in Chapel Hill 10-8 and force the decisive third game!!

Great baseball game - high drama all afternoon with both teams trading leads and heaps of clutch hitting. The bullpens have to be absolutely gassed after that.

Touch wood, the BatCats keep the hits going mañana and can get a decent outing from their freshman starter Smith Bailey. No pressure, kid.

Coastal Carolina is the first team to punch their ticket to Omaha, taking out Auburn. So the #1, #2, and #4 seeds are out.

Elsewhere, LSU puts it on West Virginia and Duke takes the opener against Murray State.

LSU scored 16 runs on 8 hits, 8 walks and one error by WVU. that seems pretty efficient.

They must have all happened in the right order.

UCLA hands UTSA their first loss of tournament.

Arizona headed to the CWS as they take out #5 seed North Carolina
