College Baseball 2021

Might tip the scale for you as far as rooting interest in tonight’s possible finale…

“During Monday’s College World Series finals game between Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, racial slurs were directed at parents of some of Vanderbilt’s players by people who appeared to be Mississippi State fans.”

Absolutely shocked that MSU fans would do that

“Appeared to be MSU fans.” I wonder if it was the gear or that shallow gene pool look.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was MSU fans, but it also wouldn’t surprise me if it was some Nebraska stock either.

Mississippi State responds to the 8-2 beating yesterday with a big 13-2 win over Vanderbilt tonight.

The winner of tomorrow’s game at 6:00 PM CDT will be the 2021 National Champion.

Vanderbilt is hitless through six innings as Mississippi State is counting the outs to their first Nattie.

5-0 Bulldogs

Mississippi State gives up the no-no but scores a bunch more runs. Now 9-0 going into the ninth.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have, at long last, won a National Championship in baseball.

They beat Vanderbilt in a decisive game three 9-0 allowing only one hit.

Congratulations Mississippi State!

Did Leiter pitch any of the 3 Championship Series games? I could not find box scores on my trip, but we were too busy for me to search very hard.

ETA: never mind. I found the box scores this morning.

Not only a National championship in baseball… the school’s first national championship in any sport

It felt like there was more interest in the CWS this year than any year I can remember so this is a bit of a shocker to me that ratings were down so much. And I’m glad to see the interest in softball but outdrawing baseball by 60%…wow.

Maybe people are finally getting wise to the ESPN/SEC slurp jobs.

And it’s not even collegiate tackle football season yet…

Nothing in an all SEC match up to generate viewers from other parts of the country, much less the population centers.

I watched only because UT was in it, and maybe or maybe not I would have watched it otherwise. Too many home runs, too few nail-biters was my impression. I do not want the college game to return to 15-14 slugfests.

I didn’t think there was much interest. I only saw news of the college World Series here at OWA. My teams weren’t in it so i really didn’t care.

Especially not the racist parts.
