Yeah, I questioned myself as soon as I posted and changed it just now.
VY not getting drafted by Houston gives me flashbacks of Rashard Lewis crying because the Rockets took 2 nobodies (Bryce Drew and Mirsad Turkscan) in the middle of the first round.
They’ve had a couple of off years in a row, but they hosted a Super regional as recently as 2017. UCI is the new power in the conference.
So Cal JUCO ball is also excellent.
Dallas Baptist is a damn good team.
They have some talent in the stands, too.
TCU does the penile Riverdance thing and loses to Dallas Baptist 8-6. Bunch of unearned in this one.
TCU will play Oregon State in an elimination game tomorrow.
It’s a “full immersion” experience.
Does DBU still have that same manager, the one who has nixed opportunities on a bigger stage?
Also, I’ve seen enough poor base running for one day. Texas has pulled some bad shit on the base paths.
Somebody’s gotta make them see Jesus
When? Two double steals (1st and 3rd) did not work because ASU played good defense. What else?
A ball hit up the middle with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out. Williams on 3rd watches the play while the runner on 2nd heads to 3rd. The 2nd baseman fields it and gets the out at first. The runner on 2nd barely got back to 2nd.
Also, I consider getting thrown out at home on the double steal and no outs to be a bad decision by Campbell. He waited for the play at 2nd and saw a bobble by the 2nd baseman and took off for home. With two outs, seems reasonable, but not with no outs.
I was focused on ASU absolutely botching the rundown
Agree on Williams’ failure to score. I have no idea what the third base coach said to the runner on the double steal. The runner may have gotten a late break or maybe ran when he was told to run. Either way, the ASU second baseman made a great play, IMO.
I liked that Williams was, scoring from 2B on a single, smart enough to slide into home without being told.
Notre Dame 26
UConn 3
Texas Tech beats North Carolina 7-2.
North Carolina and UCLA will have a re-match tomorrow and Tech will play the winner.
Texas beats Arizona State 10-3.
The Longhorns will play the winner of the Arizona State vs Fairfield game tomorrow.
Felt more like a 7.5 - 2.75 game to me.
It’s like we watched a completely different game.
As a University of Arizona alumnus, it pleases me immensely seeing tempe normal school getting beat by my late father’s alma mater
Arizona and Arizona State were once in the Border Conference with Texas Tech.
