Incredible they got that performed out of the pen and still had weapons in reserve.
Who was it that said that Ensberg’s plate approach was “middle aged man at the beach” - he’d watch everything go by and say “I’d hit that”
I have yet to hear an announcer proclaim that a dribbler to the 3rd base side has gone into the dead marmot zone. Or that a foul ball has gone into Dumbass Cove, although I suppose that the new netting has rendered that less relevant.
Man, Pravata was great. I wonder if he still reads.
Duh, he’s a librarian.
Oh, you mean the TZ…
Good one
Not I certainly, but he did the job. Mancini and McCormick saved his save in Game 5, but he was nails the rest of the time iirc.
I have no idea where it originated, but I’ve used that phrase several times when Ensberg comes up in conversation.
Do we know why he quit posting?
I do not.
I remember him getting mad…at who or what i don’t recall.
I think he got burned out doing the News You Can Use segments back in the day. Why he chose to go out in a blaze of glory instead of just not doing NYCU, or talking to us about it first, I don’t know, but I remember being kind of surprised at his attitude. It’s not like anyone here was forcing him to do it.
Man, who around here hasn’t gotten mad at some point (or five)?
Getting mad is one thing; storming off and not returning is quite another.
NYCU was one of the best parts of the site back then.
All well that ends well, but wonder why this hire didn’t happen sooner.
Did Crane piss in your Cheerios sometime?
.599 winning percentage, 2 pennants and a ring for the future HOFer.
Yeah he took over a championship caliber club but he most certainly did not fuck things up.
Cheers Dusty!
What does the Stros record have to be for him to finish the season at .600?
98-64
