So Tennessee is barely better than an overrated Alabama, but jumps both Clemson (never really in trouble vs the Criminoles) & Michigan (who stomped #10 PSU). Even accounting for the likelihood that PSU is also overrated, this seems like exhibit A in the SEC bias case.
Go stock up on lube, because they’re already talking about three SEC teams in the playoff.
Not happening, if for no other reason than Bama will absolutely lose again.
Tennessee has played a better schedule than Michigan and has the best win of the 3. Plus they crushed LSU in Baton Rouge the week before. Tennessee is good, I can’t help you if you can’t see that.
Michigan better win out because their non-con schedule was Charmin soft, and PSU and Ohio State are the only quality wins to be had.
They have a shot against Ohio State but yeah you are 100% right. 1 loss Michigan has probably about as much shot as 2 loss Texas
My only point was that if TN was behind Mich & Clemson before Saturday, I see no reason for the jump. Maybe they should not have been, but a just-barely win against an Alabama team that has been asking to get beaten does not seem worth the jump - especially with the way Mich handled #10 PSU.
Michigan beat they team they haven’t had any issue beating in the past. Tennessee beat a team that has destroyed them for 15 years
So … Kentucky should be #1? Or Kansas??
If the number 15 team loses to the number 3 team, the number 15 team will drop in the standings.
You know, because they did exactly what you would predict they would do.
Logic exists in a realm separate from CFB rankings.
Yes thinking Tennessee is good is the same as thinking Kentucky should be #1
Michigan vs Tennessee for 3 or 4 is completely pointless anyway. They both have to play top 2 teams on the road. But as for the argument, Tennessee has played 10 times tge schedule that Michigan has played and yesterday was the first time I sat back and thought, yeah I can see them in the playoff again, and they have been 4 all year
Sometimes 15 loses to 3 and moves up. Sometimes an unranked loses to a high ranked team and moves into the ranking. Sometimes a team ranked high wins and drops anyway. What does it matter?
It doesn’t.
Are you deliberately missing my point? What happened on SATURDAY that justified TN jumping Mich & Clemson? If TN has been so good all along, why were they not #4 already?
They beat Alabama, which is the single best win that any team has so far this season.
“No man with a good car needs to be justified”
College GameDay is in Eugene today, and somebody has one of those inflated floppy stick figures (like stores use to advertise) and they put a toga on it. I really, really hope that’s a nod to Animal House.
If Iowa had a bad offense they would be a consistently top 10 team every year but they can’t be even that good
Iowa’s offense is the biggest trainwreck in sports. I can’t help but watch every game they play
