By the way, when I read the thread title I thought Oh great, Hunter’s hurt again.
Yeah this isn’t good. I hope this isn’t a step to transition Bagwell to full-time GM. I know it isn’t, but my first instinct was “Noooo!” at the mention of his name.

I hope they hire a 32 year old numbers based whiz kid for GM and a 62 year old with previous major league managerial experience. 72 would be OK, too.
There will be no numbers-based people while Bagwell still has Crane’s ear.

Brown leaving is a necessary part of it. But there will be no rejoicing until we see a competent GM hired. Until then we’ll worry that someone even less competent might get hired.

Perhaps for many, myself definitely included, this felt like a foregone conclusion. Basically ever since his contract wasn’t extended.

Yeah, I think we get that, just saying it’s a little disingenuous to count Luhnow’s last day and New Guy’s first day as if their tenure were necessarily entirely within that 7 -year period. You could just as easily say that the Astros have only had two GMs in 7 years.
