Brewers at Astros, 5/19/24

Arrightetti with a 1-2-3 sixth. We’ll see if the give him the seventh or if they’re content to have him finish on a high note.

I think I’d let him start the 7th but go batter to batter. If somebody gets on, he comes out.

Altuve flies out to the corner of the Crawford Boxes wall
Bummer says Tucker hasn’t seen a mistake all day. 2 pitches later, Tucker drives a mistake out of there!

6-1 Astros

Alvarez grounds out
Bregman walks
Pena smacks a single to LF, Bregman to 2b
Singleton down swinging

End 5, 6-1 Astros

Why can’t Espada just let Arrighetti sit down and enjoy a great outing?

There was no reason to let him start the 7th.

Fucking hell Espada. You START THE INNING WITH SOMEBODY ALREADY WARMING. NOT WAIT UNTIL TWO RUNNERS ARE ON

Not having a guy ready to go immediately is fucking criminal managing

Catcher’s play

Single and walk start off T7. Bullpen was not up yet?!?!
Miller visits the mound to give Abreu time to belatedly get warmed up.
Chourio strikes out
Perkins dribbler, Carratini and Arrightetti both say “you got it”, bases loaded

Arrighetti out, Abreu in

I can’t believe how much an advocate I was. Give me Dusty!

I thought we had Abreu-Pressly-Hader for just such an occasion.

Espada really fucked this inning. I have no issue letting Arrighetti start the inning but he cannot face more than 3 batters under any circumstance. He either goes 123 or comes out with a base runner. Fucking awful job managing this.

Maybe. But the guy headed for third was going to score if nobody was covering.

And with a five run lead, they did not need the big three.

Can those runs be unearned as a manager error?

Arrighetti should get to kick Espada in the nuts

T7 continued:

Turang up with bases loaded. Singles through right side scoring 2. Thanks, Joe. Also, Abreu back to his method of “I’ll just let the first guy reach”.
Contreras flies to CF, runners hold.
Yelich singles through right side, run scores, Turang to 3b. 6-4 Astros.
Adames drives one to CF, fortunately to deepest part of park, Meyers reels it in.

Mid 7, 6-4 Astros.

Arrighetti should take a bat to Espada’s nuts.

Apparently Pressly is dealing with a thumb issue?

I hope he’s got some sort of ailment that explains his less-than-stellar performances thus far.

Jake rakes one down the LF line, well fielded, held to single
Carratini HBP, just grazed the jersey
Loperfido with a very nice bunt between P and 3b, sacrifice moves runners to 2b and 3b
Altuve sharp grounder to 3b, Meyers hung up on contact play, can’t give time for others to advance. 2 out, men on 1b and 2b.

KING TUCK TO THE CRAWFORD BOXES! A THREE FROM WAY DOWNTOWN!

9-4 Astros!

Boras might be having priapism watching Tucker this year.
