The first one said something about bad mechanics no way Ruth could compete with today’s players.
Like Jim said, appallingly stupid.

Hmmm. Don’t see those. Only ones that say “this is great”…“really cool video”. Oh well, I won’t go searching for the garbage.
The very first one is garbage.
The first comment is “That’s awesome”. At least that’s what it is for me.
The first rule of the internet is “never read the comments.”
The second rule is to remember the first rule.
Yeah, like AFIBD I (wisely) elected not to scroll, but I got all the stupidity I needed in the first few comments.
The video was great, and it was fun to see that, apparently, Babe Ruth invented the cutter.
A few thoughts:
Most people can’t hit a golf ball 450 feet.
I could hit a golf ball that far, but any direction in the entire 360 degrees is a possibility
I hit one behind me once.
First tee, Muny Golf Course in Austin, next foursome behind looking on, of course.
I tried to hit it 450 yards, hit it on the heel of the club, ball went screaming left eye-high, hit a wooden sign on a tree telling golfers stuff, came rocketing back at me over my left shoulder, scattered terrified onlookers behind me.
Quite embarrassing, I’ll tell you.
Ahhh, cricket golf.
I think anybody who has ever played golf has been there with you, Jim. I’ve had some “interesting” shots myself.
The worst thing for me, even when I was playing often and well, was the first tee. Strangers are watching!
Once playing golf in the Philippines, I was using a buddy’s big head driver for the first time so I set the tee high and when I swung, I must have hit the ball with the top of the club and it went straight up and slightly behind me in to a cluster of bamboo trees. The ball sounded like a xylophone coming down bouncing from tree to tree. Me, my buddy and the two caddy’s all laughed very very hard.
I know what you mean. That first tee was always a problem. I invariably, even though I told myself not to, tried to knock the crap out of that first tee shot. As often as not I would not contact the ball solidly.
I’m really good swinging at the 0-2 pitch
I saw a lot of curveballs on the first tee.
I hit a lot of foul balls.
MLB should bring him back just to reverse one more of his decisions.
