True. Currently on a 44-118 pace and that’s before trade deadline subtractions. And there’s a bunch of guys they could dump–David Peralta, Eduardo Escobar, Asdrubal Cabrera, Kole Calhoun, Merrill Kelly, MadBum (if they’re willing to eat a whole lot of his salary).
In one game week before last, the DBacks led the Giants 7-0 early and maintained the lead late. Legit shot at ending the road losing streak. And, well…

To be 100fucking% clear, if he wasn’t 1) a $40m a year player and 2) expected to help the Dodgers repeat, he’d already have been released and (I assume) suspended from MLB like Domingo German was.
As it stands, we get a “no comment” from the Dodgers.

I guess I was just surprised that MLB gave a Yankee SP the rest of a season, rather than the 1) stern talking to, that I expected or the 2) public drowning, that I wanted.
