A player that comes to mind that was somewhat similar to Lance and was a one and done on the hall of fame ballot was Mark Teixera. I just don’t see Votto as a hall of famer if those two didn’t get in.
Lance’s 2004 NLCS gets overlooked simply because of how insane Beltran was in that series
I thought that was the Earth, no?
I think this is a clear case of Votto and Berkman both deserve a place in the Hall of Very Very Very Good.
See, the flat earthers are the ones being played–Earth is the only round planet, all of the rest are flat. They’re just sideways in space so they look like globes to us.
Which explains why Mars etc don’t have water, it all runs off into space. I’m right and everyone knows it.
Learn something new everyday
Oh, Mars has water now, except it’s all 100+ miles underground
Something I’ve never thought of, how thick do flat earthers think the earth is? How thick can something be before it’s not considered flat anymore?
I don’t know if the numbers back this up, but I feel like spending your whole MLB career in one city gets HOVG (or HOVVVG) guys a huge boost in HOF voting. Especially if you’re the sole face of that franchise like Votto was. Berkman is obviously an Astro first, but his later years traveling the league hurt his perception, silly as it may be. Plus he shared the spotlight in Houston with lots of other stars.
The same applies to Kenny Lofton. And now I’m mad again just thinking about how the voters shafted him.
If Edgar Martinez is in the HOF, Votto should be too.
Ooof…Edgar Martinez, huh?
If Harold Baines is in … who shouldn’t be in?
Eddie Murray, Lance Berkman, Dave Parker…
Way better that whoever you’re talking about.
Is he?
Yes. Class of 2019.
Same year COVID 19 started.
Related?
Definitely.
Best 1B of the 90’s
Bagwell
#2
Todd Helton
Todd was more of an ought’s player. Only logged 3 season on the 90’s. And Andres Galarraga was the stater in’97, with Helton starting mostly in LF getting a little over 100 PAs. Lots of contender for 2nd best 1B in the 90’s. Frank Thomas, Fred McGriff, Thome, and of course the PED twins, Palmeiro and McGwire.
It’s amazing to me to see multi-million $$ franchises of a multi-billion $$ corporation continue to act so unprofessional. Counter this boorish Mariners management behavior vs. the Astros, who manage to the data and move people around like a chess match but do it in such an open, honest and transparent way that players at every level talk about how great the org is and clamour to get in from the outside.
