The Reds are good and it is nice to see such a huge crowd at the GABP.

How the hell does a team called the ā€œRedsā€ go with a uniform that Batman would admire?

Never liked the reds. Goes back to Aā€™s days. Wanted them to win. Was a little one

The White Sox main color is black. Donā€™t try to make sense of baseball uniforms

The Red Sox at least have the decency to wear red socks with everything but their hideous city connect uniforms.

They look like the Savanah Bananas in those uniforms.

Only less fun.

Waiting to learn your uncleā€™s name. You know, the one who made the Brooklyn Dodgers.

I thought he said his uncle had a chance to try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers but chose not to. I missed the part about playing for them.

His uncle ā€œmade the Brooklyn Dodgers.ā€ Money was better in ā€œother venturesā€ so he did not play. Not the first time posted.

Total bs, of course, without a name which can be looked up.

Bruce please explain, did your uncle make the opening day roster and then just walked away? For a better paying job? Did he even actually try out and was told to come back? You make it sound as if he was offered some kind of contract but turned it down. Did he regret his decision? Do you think if he had stayed with the game he could have made an all-star team? Would he have been a 30-40 homer guy or a 10-20? Or maybe he was a pitcher? I bet if he threw a knuckle ball he could have played a long time.

I am reading this in slack-jawed amazement. I will get some popcorn and be right back.

I think his uncle might have been a 6 tool player but he gave up so weā€™ll never know how many all-star teams he would have made.

By great-great-uncle on my second cousinā€™s side was placed in an orphanage in Baltimore but the family lore says he could hit an pitch at a HOF level.

My maternal grandpa was a good high school baseball player and was actually offered a tryout for the Reds organization. Sometime that summer after graduation, a couple of weeks before his tryout, he had his right index finger cut off in a farming accident. And that was the end of his professional baseball career. Thatā€™s a true story. But to have heard my mom tell it, ā€œHe was destined for the Hall of Fame.ā€

Was he from Japan?

No, this was way before integration.

Aaron Boone also refused to give a timeline but said he expects Judge to return this season. However, Boone wouldnā€™t go so far as to assure it.

Is Judgeā€™s injury essentially the same as turf toe, or is there some significant difference between the two?
