Baseball Miscellany

Well, in case it wasn’t clear, those thoughts are fucking stupid.

If you’re attributing cause to things that aren’t true then you might as well blame it on aliens.

Are the homeless really ant people? I’m just asking the question. Let’s teach the controversy.

Reminds me of Texas.

They are people like you and I. But as long as they are not red ants. Those things bite when mowing! Guess I am showing prejudice against red ants. They hurt.:joy:

More potential Manfred Meddling

The latest baseball craze seems to be the Immaculate Grid game, a simple daily exercise in remembering some guys:

I am astonishingly bad at it, but it’s still a lot of fun.

5/9 but I refuse to look anything up.

Summary

It would have been 6/9 but I accidentally clicked Ken Griffey Sr instead of Jr

Been playing this for a few days. Got 9/9 a couple days ago. 6/9 today

My son introduced me a few days ago. For some reason, “ol what’s his name” isn’t in their data base.

I’m 6/9 today. Couldn’t figure out three of the folks who played for different teams. Used an Astros connection for one of the answers.

I was just watching some highlights and saw Corbin Carroll running the bases. I didn’t realize he was so speedy.

He’s the real deal.

And in reading a write up on him I realized that the Astros have a definite stake in Hunter Brown winning ROY - it would give them a supplemental first round pick because he was a top 100 prospect on the opening day roster

Elly de la Cruz hits for the cycle. I wonder if that’s the fewest games experience for any hitter on the cycle.

I can’t find that, but I did learn that a couple of years ago Eddie Rosario hit for the cycle on 5 pitches.

He became the youngest player to hit for the cycle since Cedeno in 1972, according to ESPN Stats & Information. De La Cruz is also the third player since 1901 to hit for the cycle within his first 15 career games.

The youngest ever was Mel Ott

He looks like he’s gonna be a MF’n star. If you told me right now i could start a new team and could only pick from rookies to start building my roster, he’s the number once pick. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited to watch a player. I’m actually going on a family trip next month and will be in Cincinnati. Might take in a game against the Brewers to see him and that ballpark.

I’d take Corbin Carroll but I wouldn’t begrudge you your pick.
