Also, it’s a fucking joke that MLB uses the logic that Garcia didn’t intentionally try to hurt anyone after he gets in Maldy’s face and starts jawing and pointing to not suspend him.
The only reason Garcia didn’t try to intentionally hurt anyone is Yordan Alvarez physically held him back.
They just see an opportunity to hinder the Astros chances of getting to another World Series and are taking advantage of it.
Extremely shortsighted and bad precedent to set for MLB. Garcia literally ignited the entire incident. If he runs to first or even only glares out then nothing would have happened at all. It means that from now on you get rewarded for throwing a big shitfit whether intentional or not. If you have, say a Yordan Alvarez (or whoever), who gets hit intentionally but who doesnt do anything and just takes a base, then you get no justice but if you start a brawl maybe the other teams best reliever will get suspended no matter how dubious the situation.
It’s a stupid ruling, but Manfred knows exactly what he’s trying to do. He would love nothing else than to prevent this group of Astros from going to another World Series, and he’s intentionally taking advantage of an opening to try and weaken their chances.
Fuck him and anyone against the Astros. It’s time to shove it up their collective asses tomorrow night and get back to the World Series.
This, along with the Astros being made out to be the poster child/mlb’s sacrificial lamb for rampant league wide cheating, is why I despise rob fucking manfred and all the fuckwits who see I’m an ardent Astros fan and can only muster the usual, predictable, petulant, “Cheaters!” outburst, and makes me even more of an Astros backer with a huge chip on my shoulders.
It is nice living rent free in most peoples’ tiny fuckwit brains, though…
Someone expendable on the bench needs to be designated to go out like a madman after the pitcher and catcher if Altuve or Yordan or any star other player gets hit in the next couple games.
You are as fucking wrong today as you were last night. There is no way that was intentional in that situation. Anyone who knows even a little about baseball-and I thought you did-would say that was intentional.
Agreed, it would be insanity to put a runner on in that situation. This must be a conspiracy or coup against the Astros hatched by MLB, Fox, the Athletic , and USAToday’s sports editorialists
If you think about it, the only reason MLB would think that the HBP was intentional is that Garcia paraded like a clown after his HR. There’s no other reason that makes sense and to come to that conclusion, you’d have to think Abreu and the Astros would be so petty as to torpedo their chances to win the game just to make a point. It’s so outrageous it’s almost unbelievable.
The way to turn it off is to calm down and to think about what you would do in that situation. It is NOT put another runner on with no outs down 2 with only three outs to go.
