It’s not like the coaching staff can’t see the same thing we are. They baby the fuck out of everyone else, there’s a less than zero chance they said “Eh, fuck it. He says he’s fine despite obviously not being okay. Send him out for another one!”

You’re right and I apologize for suggesting it. I think Javier is struggling to consistently repeat his delivery for whatever reason.

100% theres an underlying reason for it but it mechanically makes sense and something that I didn’t notice

Haven’t been watching the game (other than gamecast) - so this is a good point. If command ain’t there, then tipping is irrelevant. I just wonder how they are making much more contact than last year and starting from there. I’ll just sit my Clark ass down and watch the thread.

Javier’s struggles began in a home start against the Mets in June where he was way off with his command. It bled into his next two starts against the Cardinals and that crazy Monday game in Arlington against the Rangers. He wasn’t just missing, he was missing badly.

So you can sit on the start-high slider and spit on the start center slider, or just hunt fastballs.
