Hard not to feel like that loss isn’t the start of the skid if you don’t win tomorrow.

Painful, painful loss. Complete failure by Pressly, just inexcusable to walk anyone with a 3 run lead. And Stanek continued the trend after the strikeout, walking LeMahieu and falling behind Judge. 11 hits and 6 runs should have been enough, but they could have scored more. Just 2 for 10 with RISP. I’m afraid that momentum shift in this series could spell disaster. Let’s hope they turn the page tomorrow and the bats don’t go into hiding.
By far the worst loss for me, and I cannot think of another one even close. Pressly has been great for us, and he should not be condemned for one loss, but we were on the brink of a statement win. A reliever, especially a closer, cannot walk the leadoff man, and Pressly has done it before. Pressly became the closer by default because there was no one else, and he had been great in the 8th inning role. I agree with whomever said Dusty is in love with the status quo, and it probably will not happen, but I think it is time to try Montero in the closer role. Valdez did a great job after the first, as did the other relievers, to protect the three-run lead. Pressly seems like a good guy, and my guess is he thinks the same things about his 9th inning last night as we do.

Clearly. A hit is scoring the winning run from second with two outs regardless whether it’s Judge or Rizzo at the plate. But, this is the same manager that chose to continually let Salvador Perez beat the Astros in a series in Kansas City last season instead of pitching to Carlos Santana, instead.
Yep, dumb move by Baker, but Stanek should be thinking too. He did not have to throw Judge a hittable pitch.
