Astros @ Twins, April 7, 2023

Really looking forward to losing this one 2-1.

B 8th 1-1
(Neris pitching for 'Stros)

Miranda 1st pitch was a strike, but 2-0, then line drive single to Yordan
Solano good takes, 2-0; then fouled ball 3 & 4 (2-2), swinging K
Farmer line out to Chas (1 on 1st; 2 out)
Gordon foul, swinging strike, ball, foul, ball (2-2), 3-2, hits slider to Yordon, 3rd out.

T 9th 1-1
(Duran pitching)

Yordan 2-1, 2nd swinging strike, full count, BB

Balls Strikes
Urquidy 95-63; Abreu 14-7; Monter0 10-6; & Neris 17-10

Tucker faced 3 fastballs, took one and swung an hour behind the other two.

Fucking ugly.

T 9 - 1-1, Yordan leads off w/ BB, now on 1st.
(Duran pitching)

Abreu called strike, swing, foul, foul, called strike (1 out)
Tuck called strike, swing, swinging 3rd strike
Hensley 2 - 0 count, 3-0 (not close), 3-1, 102 FB GO to 1st.

Woof.

That dude was filthy, but he didn’t deserve that 3-0 pitch to Hensley at all.

Dude was wild as fuck and got a super questionable bottom/outside corner call that turned the AB around.

Why the fuck is Pressly in this game with six outs to get?

I’m baffled.

ETA: And a game to go.

Agree

Missed badly on 3 straight, then gets the call on a pitch that might have had one seam graze one corner of he zone.

B 9th, 1-1
(Pressly pitching for 'Stros)
(16 K’s for 'Stros)

Vazquez 2-1, foul, foul (last two above the zone), pitch timer violation 3-2, swinging K
Taylor 1-2, called 3rd strike (now 10 K’s for Twins)
Buxton called strike changeup, foul, swinging K (#11)

Now score some goddamn runs you buncha rolled up newspaper swinging twiddledicks!

Pressly did his job. The Astros’ offense needs to do theirs.
