Astros @ Tigers, 8/25/23

Yes. To me that was the loss off the year and our low point (I hope). Felt the opposite of the Tucker grand slam game against BAL.

Yeah. You were throwing a damn no hitter into the 8th, and a one hitter with 2-out, nobody on, 0-2 on the hitter in the 9th. You have to win that game.

I really want to know what the fuck is going on with Pressly because his slider looks eminently hittable right now. Are his mechanics off? Is it between the ears?

Pressly hadn’t allowed an earned run since July 28th before last night.

Hoping for a team low point. Time to go on one of those runs where team wins 8-10, etc. seems impossible right now but it could happen.

We’ve seen shittier Augusts from this team.

One game out; 32 to play. They’re running against Texas and Seattle.

I believe they have walks at minute maid. They used to, I think you might be able to take dogs.

2018 is the only comparable one I can see during these competitive years

August breakdown.

It was too hot to do anything else today.

2015: 14-13
2016: 15-13
2017: 11-16
2018: 13-12
2019: 18-9
2020: 15-10
2021: 14-12
2022: 17-10
2023 (to date): 11-11

I didn’t look at W/L for the month, I was looking at leads and games back in the division for the month. B-R made that lazy and easy.

'18: started up 5, ended up 1.5 ahead
'23: started back .5, currently back 1

We had massive leads in the others, so I kinda glossed over those

2917 We got Verlander the last minute of the last day of August. The team seemed re-energized after that.

Mariners are 17-5 this month and cruising to 18 against the Royals today.

Unless they aren’t

They’re up 9-1 and counting right now.

Well, Needville is getting rolled too. But it’s not over yet!

Everyday is hot. If we get rain in Houston plants will love it. Sun comes out humidity will go through roof.
