Crane says Dusty is “doing a great job.”

Just makes my head want to explode.

Finally got a lead during a 3 game losing streak.

PUT YOUR BEST RELIEVER IN THE GAME!!

I think McCormick was safe but by less than an inch. It wasn’t simultaneous, but it was closer than a bang bang. That is never going to be overturned.

Royals made the play. The frustrating part is it should not have come to that. Even more frustrating is how Dusty continually sabotages his players.

It’s the seventh inning, and Blake Taylor is not one of your three best relievers. He had no business coming in when Graveman hadn’t pitched since Friday, and you are looking to end a three-game losing streak.

I wish Dusty Baker would treat this bullpen like he used to use his starting pitchers in previous managerial stops: Ride your horses and stop getting cute.

I completely agree with you on all points. I’m beyond ready to turn the team over to Joe Espada. At least, he shouldn’t be a drastic late-and-close game liability like Baker.

The Astros are 70-50 in spite of Baker, and that’s saying something.

Oh, one more thing.

Dozier has hit 20% of his homers this season in this series.

This team is infuriating

I had a thought?

Based on the personalities of the players currently on the team, who stands up and starts yelling?

Nobody!!

Maybe Lance?

The big vocal. Emotional leaders this team has had in the recent past: Springer, Verlander. Bregman.

None are currently there.

This team is made up of quiet, professional introverted players which isn’t a bad thing by itself but sometimes fire is needed.

Perhaps they’re afraid if they yell they’ll wake up their idiot manager and he’ll do even more dumb shit.

Someone should tell Dusty…”I don’t want to put it on you, but your stupidity leaves me no other alternative.”

I have always been one who realizes " it’s not as easy as it looks - I can’t do a better job." When it comes to professional sports

But, I honestly think I could manage better than Dusty.

Some of his decision. . .

At least only teams with winning records will be in the playoffs - if they don’t spoil even that in the next 42 games.

The team actually motivates itself to play well, despite the terrible decisions, vs them.

The good news is:

If the Astros keep winning more than they lose to teams above 500 and losing more than they win vs 500 and under:

They will finish 21-21 in last 42.

Will win 4 of 6 vs Oakland.

Oakland will need to go 21-14 in their remaining 35 games to tie at 91-73.

And Astros should hold the tie breaker, so A’s will need to go 22-13 to win the division.

I think every professional team motivates itself as do the individual players. This is not HS where motivational speeches and talks can occasionally make a difference in how a team plays. A professional manager’s main, maybe sole, worth is making correctly the few decisions which can directly affect the outcome of the game. This is Baker’s miserable failure.

If the Astros finish with 91 wins, this season will be a huge disappointment. And they will not make the Postseason, not even the Wild Card.

Exactly. Baker is not there to “coach” the players, he’s there to manage games. He consistently fucks that up.

The A’s are very capable of going 22-13. If Houston finishes 21-21 down the stretch I would expect to see them make an early exit in the post-season.

If Houston finishes 21-21 down the stretch there’s no way they make the postseason. None.

They also wouldn’t deserve it.

I think it’s significant that he felt the need to say anything at all. I don’t recall him ever issuing a public vote of confidence in Hinch.

It is unfortunate that if Crane wants to avoid being shredded again in PR he has to let Dusty play out the string.
