You’re learning the way, young apprentince.

Good, good.

Enjoy tonight Spence, Espada probably won’t let you see another ab for 2-3 days.

3 games left, and that’s the magic number.

Just win.

All that hate’s gonna burn you up.

Unluck to not be the player of the game.

Oh, you shut your mouth. But you’re probably right.

Spence is an UDFA who started with the Woodpeckers in 2025 and moved up two levels to Tourists and then Hooks that year. Timely piece about him two weeks ago.

Interesting read. He was a godsend tonight. They had to win this one and he stepped up in a big way.

Astros won, and Lucas Spence had three home runs. 3 games left.

ā€œThis game will be defined by Lucas Spence and Miguel Ullolaā€ would not have seemed like a positive forecast

I will wait for the season to be over prior to giving my meaningless thoughts on Ullola. Yes, I’m superstitious.

We need Brown to step up tonight and give the ballclub at least 6 IP. 7 IP would be better, but I’d take 6.

ETA: I hope we can all (including Espada) agree that if Brown is rolling tonight and says he feels good that maybe he can be allowed to start a new inning at 95, 96 or even 99 pitches. Astros are essentially playing playoff games.

Agreed.

This being a playoff game where Hader and Abreu are probably both seriously fatigued if not out all together is not ideal.

I think they have to bring in at least one fresh arm but whoever gets sent down (Ullola?) can’t come back for Saturday or Sunday.

And who do they have on the taxi squad who will actually be a positive?

His latest fascination with the strikeout is not going to help here. He had one good game last month where he was frustrated with getting dinked and started raring back and going for the K. And, ever since, is at 90+ pitches in the 4th each game.
