T8:

Walker in for Hjelle
Singleton pinch hitting for Chas, lines out on a nice diving catch by Yaz in RF
Caratini singles to LF. Unfortunately Yainer’s injury means no pinch runner
Altuve grounds to shallow 3b, Caratini to 2b
Bregman starts 3-0, takes one down the middle, takes one down and in where he takes the shin guard off, grounds 5-3 to end the inning

Mid 8, 1-1

It wouldn’t have killed me if Bregman had offered at at that 3-0 pitch.

Well done, Taylor Scott!!

B8:

Scott stays in. Cabbage to RF for Singleton/Chas.
Ramos out 6-3
Bailey walks on 3-2
Conforto with a routine fly to CF
Soler pops a 2-2 pitch foul to Abreu

End 8, 1-1

8th inning (Taylor’s Version)

Peña almost pulled a muscle laying off ball 4.

T9:

Doval in for SFG
Yordan swings through 1-2 slider at his ankles
Pena walks on 3-1
Jake strikes out swinging
Dubon bounces past 3b, SS fields it but no chance and holds it. Pena to 2b
WP advances both runners
Abreu K swinging

Mid 9, 1-1

Hader will have the 9th

Doval only threw as many clear strikes as he had to. Astros chased a lot of bad pitches.

It probably wouldn’t have mattered, but I wanted to see Peña take second there.

I wanted to see Loperfido pinch hit for Abreu. Otherwise why the fuck is he on the roster?

Singleton already out of the game.

Pinch runner ftw

Now that Hudson’s gone to bed it sure is irritating to have to watch the game to find out what’s going to happen.

Hader gives up a single, but nothing else.

Free baseball!

T9:

Slater pops foul to Abreu by the dugout
Estrada pops to CF
Flores, PH for Brooks, singles to LF. The no-doubles OF defense holds him at 1b.
Schmitt flies to CF, and we’ll head to extra innings.

I hate the Manfred Man so much.

Ditto.
Plus he was safe.

Pretty amazing that Espada is trying a little small ball in extra innings. It’s almost like he learned something.

T10:

Miller in for SFG
Loperfido PR for Abreu at 2b
Cabbage with AN ACTUAL FUCKING BUNT TO ADVANCE THE RUNNER!
Out at 1b, Astros will challenge. Yep, he’s safe! First and third
Caratini up, infield in, 2-1 pitch at nose level called a strike, check swing makes it 3-2, bases should be loaded now, fouling off several pitches, flies to the LF track to make it 2-1 Astros!
