She was a really cool lady. She was a high school classmate of and friends with Gene Kelly. She had snapshots of them together and letters and Christmas cards they’d send (which is how you stayed in touch with old friends prior to the internet, kids). She took his death hard, not just the death of an old friend, but he represented much of the popular music and films of her era and it was slipping away. She was also from Pittsburgh and talked about the Pirates often, especially 1960.
