Julks needs some mustache lessons from France
It was all delightful.
I made a quick stop on the way home and ended up stumbling in to a high school graduation party that was all parents and that had a covered tab that i was invited to join. I saw Yordan hit his mega shot there.
By âstumblingââŠdo you mean figuratively or literally?
Yes.
For anyone still paying attention, this Aâs Rangers extra innings game is funâŠ
Screw the Rangers. And I mean that with all my heart.
Loading it up now.
It ended suddenly and delightfully.
Opened it to see the dinger.
Love it! A great night for baseball.
They have the meats all rightâŠany one see this?

Takes a special player to perform like he did in â22 with so few minor league games under his belt. If he can get on base a little more heâs a bona fide star.
I fucking love Glenn Miller.
My mother said many times she danced a million miles to âIn the mood.â I love him too.
Burn or Plainsong.
I listened to a lot of Glenn Miller growing because of my Dad. Big Band in general is pretty wonderful to listen to.
In the Mood is one my favorites as well. Moonlight Serenade is probably the favorite, though.
One of my ex-fiancĂ©âs grandmother was a huge fan of all big band music from the 1920s-40s and had a huge record collection, a good bit of it Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny GoodmanâŠShe loved to have us over to play records and drink Campari and soda. She couldnât dance much anymore, but she loved music as much as anyone Iâve ever known. But her favorite song was White Cliffs of Dover, and she played it every time we listened with her. It was the last song they played at her funeral.
Great story! I love the big band music too and think I have a Glenn Miller 331/3 album/collection from my motherâs stuff.
The song you mentioned reminded me Carolyn and I stayed in a small hotel which literally was across a narrow street from the base of the White Cliffs. Cool memory for me.
Stan Getz is my go-to. With or without the Brazilians, but mostly with.
So he unofficially missed 17 calls last night

My late father in law was born in 1933 and loved big band music.
One of the AM stations here had a Big Band era weekend show called Jim and Charlie which he would record on cassette tape and play while he was doing whatever home renovation project he happened to be on (DIY renovations were a CONSTANT, thanks to my MILâs whims and his busy body nature).
When he retired he bought a minivan and had to pay extra for them to take out the radio/cd player and replace it with a radio/cassette so he could listen to the tapes while he drove. He was a child of the depression and thatâs the the only thing I can recall that he ever splurged on for himself.
When we cleared out his house we mustâve found 70 cassettes dutifully labeled âJim and Charlieâ followed by the air date.
